You will need a copy of the dashboard version you want to downgrade to and then just copy the files to the c: drive after erasing your /c/
You can find a copy of the 4920 dashboard in slayer's 2.5

what u need!

a unmoded or moded xbox

ftp access to your xbox eg  007 or mech assault save hack or hdd hot swap if you already have the bigfont exploits u can use this to ftp to your xbox just make sure you delete phoenix and bigfonts from the c:/drive and the xboxdash.xbe from the e:/drive and rename all font files and evox.ini back to default!

ok i'm not going to go on about how to ftp in to you xbox as its on just about every tutorial on here

download Audio_Signed_Phoenix_Bios_Loader.  i've set up phoenix1.2 its all signed but you need to find the rc4key and 4977bfm your self i cant post it on ***DO NOT GIVE LINKES***

again if u already have phoenix with bigfont hack you already have the rc4key and bios.

now open Audio_Signed_Phoenix_Bios_Loader.rar your have 2 folders c/stuff and e/stuff copy the contents of c/stuff to your xbox c:/drive then open e:/stuff/tdata and replace the fffe0000 thats in your xbox tdata with this one! you might want to back up your old one frist.

now copy the rest of pheonix to your e:/drive you should now have the following in your e drive

boot.cfg with the rc4key in
linux.xbe
phoenix.raw
xboxrom.bin
fffe0000 replaced in your xbox E:/tdata folder

and the following in your c drive
evoxdash.xbe
evox.ini
skins
every thing else in c should be default!

now reboot your xbox go to music put in a audio cd hit copy then copy again then press A phoenix will boot and then go in to evox all done:-)

now u can use live just turn on your xbox with out useing the audio trick and your ok 4 live

this will also fix the keeps rebooting after xbox is turned off for a long time with font hack and cant boot xboxdash.xbe with font hack as it boots to the xboxdash.xbe first

u can also add a 2nd bios in phoeinx if u want just call it xboxrom2.bin

to the first reply  i've connected to live  15 times today no probs you see the only file your changing is the st.db live does not look for this but if you want to be really careful you can put the old st.db back before you go on live then use the 007 trick to ftp back in and put the new st.db back when u want to run backups again smile.gif

This is fairly close to what I am doing, but I have taken it a step further and have modified the xboxrom.bin file on the e: drive to point to all the evox files (found on c: originally) on the e: drive.  Therefore you have an untouched c: drive.  Check out the tutorial by Tutu for a step by step on how to modify the xboxrom.bin file with XBTool - it really does seem to be the best software hack right now...

Thus far I have had no problems with XBox Live - but as mentioned in other threads, this could change at any given time depending on what M$ does...

How do you find out the RC4 key and the bios?

Also, will this work on an ORIGINAL DASHBOARD, not LIVE-UPDATED DASHBOARD (this will save me a game rental)?

I would just like to add for this to work you need to update your dashboard to 4920.

You can do this by going into the xbox live section of game like Unreal Championship.

so far ive moded 5 xboxs with this v1.0 v1.1 v1.2 no probs the v1.2 was fresh out the box and already had the live dash on! one of the v1.0 xboxs was sent to me with a bad tsop and a matrix i used the matrix with the 4034 orginal bios to fix the tsop and phoenix to load the 4977 bios it works fine on live to

i've sent the xbox with the bad tsop back now but ive been thinking can phoenix fix a 100% bad tsop plz dont flame me i know it prob wont work because if you boot with mod evox can only see the mod but my idea was
1.put orgnal bios on matrix

2.install audio phoenix

3boot to ms dash take out matrix then load phoenix and flash tsop with evox

if anyone wants to try this plz post results

also dont tell me to use matix tsop bios it only works if you have atleast 1x256k orginal bios on the tsop i've tryed it shit loads of times

When I connect to my xbox using hdd driver, I don't see an actual C: drive or E: drive.  Instead I see a bunch of folders like audio, fonts, system, udata, tdata etc.  Could someone explain how to determine which folders are on the c: drive, and which ones are on the e: drive?

linux.xbe should be in the e drive anyway you could put evolutionx in your f drive if u edit the xboxrom with xbtool anyone thats got xbtool working with a bfm bios plz post how as ive put the rc4key in and the other to files but till get errors with xbtool useing 4977

also if you want to use a 2nd bios in phoenix edit the following in the evox.ini

AudioPlayer   = "c:xboxdash.xbe"
MSDashBoard   = "e:linux.xbe"

AND

[Menu]

Section "Root"
{
   Item "PHOENIX",@3
   Item "Run DVD Game","d:default.xbe"
   Item "Reboot",@5
   Item "Power Off",@10
   Section "System Utils"
   {

now press eject in evox and  go to pheonix your 2nd bios will boot not that you need a 2nd bios with the audio hack

I got this to work first time on my console but now when I try the same process on a friend's it won't work.

He had the ols MS dash so I've upgraded it to the 4920 version.

I've FTP'd the files over but when I do the copy cd option it just copies the cd to the hard drive.

I've compared the file layout on both consoles and it seems the c: drives have slightly different file layouts (font folder etc).

Can I copy the files off my working c drive and upload them to his or will this screw up his console ?

Any help would be much appreciated. uhh.gif

ok alot of you are finding it hard finding the Audio_Signed_Phoenix_Bios_Loader so here is how to edit the st.db in audio_track_exploit to work with phoenix.

what you need

1.audio_track_exploit / look on xbins
2.XVI32 Hex/ can be found on xbox-scene
3.phoenix and rc4key and bfm bios
4.xbdump

ok open the audio_track exploit all you need is the st.db so delete the linux.xbe.
open the st.db with XV132 HEX and replace the following

look on the left for the dc line and replace it like this

FROM DC/80AD81EE030000003DBD1B4BA475F28176FFD68BD72D
TO   DC/80AD81EE030000003DBD1B4BA475F28176FFC28AD73D

look on the left for the f2 line and replace it like this
FROM /8D855201000089855E01000050051400000089857201
TO     /8D855201000089855E010000508176FF140100109090

look on the left for the 108 line and replace it like this
FROM/0000FF12642101008D8566010000508D855201000050
TO    /9090FF15642101008D8566010000508D855201000050

look on the left for the 18c line and replce it like this
FROM/75782E78626500BFAF590280B0E9AAB0B6AAB0A4AABF
TO    /75782E78626500300000000000000001000000A40000

now fill everything after the 18c line with 0s and save it

take the default.xbe from phoenix and sign it with xbdump. the cmd is xbedump default.xbe -audio. then rename the out.xbe to linux.xbe

put the linux.xbe and st.db you made in a folder called e/stuff also put the phoenix.raw xboxrom boot.config with the rc4key in that folder

put evoxdash.xbe evox.ini skins in a folder called c/stuff

you have now made Audio_Signed_Phoenix_Bios_Loader rolleyes.gif

ok you dont need to edit the st.db now xbins have it if you know were to look

download Mordens_Audio_hack_MA.rar from xbins look under
Mordens_Audio_hack_MA.rar4d53001762d648ebf155audio
your see a ready made st.db also the rc4key just add phoenix and sign it with audio hack and add the 4977bios

maybe xbins will put audio_signed_bios_loader back now as its in Mordens_Audio_hack_MA.rar anyway. there is no reason not to but saying that a friend of mine went on xbins and asked them and got banned lol

So I've used this exploit and it worked flawlessly.  But when I copy a game with pxhddloader where does it go?  I assume its on the f drive but when you ftp and look at the f drive nothing shows up.  I've also looked under e but nothing.  The game copys and plays fine but would still like to know what is going on.  (just thought of a possiblity maybe its the use f drive option in evox.ini. i'll check when i get home).

Any Suggestions??

could be because you left the audio cd in. if auto load audio is tuned on in evox it will do that! as soon as you get the phoenix logo remove the cd.

your bios is booting to the ms dashboard and not evolutionx is could be due to the following

1. bios not setup right
2. evox not setup right

best thing you can do is open your bios in xbtool and look where and what you bios boots to

this tutorial was simple, i found everything i need by searching "audio exploit with phoenix bios loader" in g00gle. a foreign site i believe, but i won't post the link, gotta find it urself! oh yea, exploit worked perfectly. i also replaced the st.db with the no cd version, to where you dont need an audio cd to load PBL, just copy the blank soundtrack back onto the HD, works PERFECTLY everytime.. thanks alot for this tutorial.

about the "going back to the audio screen" thing, just get replace the bios with another one. meaning, get the same bios, but from another place and try that

Crap, well, I dont see anyone else talking about the problem Im having...

Well, I downloaded the moreden's audio exploit package at xbins, got mxm all loaded up just fine with 007, then used the "install audio exploit"  option. Everything seemed to be working just fine and dandy, untill I rebooted and tried to get the audio exploit to kick in.

When I went to music and pressed Down-A-DOWN-A-Right-Right-A-A-A, I got a message reading something allong the lines of "cannot create new sound track the maximum of 100 tracks has been reached".

Thats it, no media x menu, it just gave me a little box with that error.

The audio exploit sometimes fails, this is why there is the option to repair the DB in MXM. It happens sometimes, downside of the audio exploit..... But who knows someone might figure it out.

Or you couldhave the wrong version of the MSDash. The Audio Exploit only works with the 4920 dash.

Next time look at the thread for the install,  or the FAQ; both of which can be found in my sig If you had you would have found the solutions to this problem.

It is also in the readme.
