Newbie here I tested it on evom7 pre mode with all blue logo 60% fan speed and LBA48 support Boot dvd=default.xbe 1st=C:\Unleashx.xbe 2nd=C:\evoxdash.xbe 3rd=C:\xboxdash.xbe on a AMD and Xecuter 2.3B Lite
I tried the BBBBBBB and I get different colors and the camera is zoomed in to close? Also tried it on different file size 256 and 512 same results?

the bios size should not make any difference at all. From what I seem you forgot to enter the value for the camera so that may be your problem.
clogicgmather: you might wanna add some error handling
I also tried this program and also have gotten different colours I set RRRRRRR3 and its all wierd.I tested on a 1.1 with a 512k TSOP split.
Marco7 the problem is because the default value is specified as 0.125, have sorted that now, Will take a look this eve, thats basically what i knocked up over the weekend and am in the process to moving house, will take a look when i get back from work. Will ensure input validation and check out the colour settings. Can you describe where the colour is different (i think some of them i plain just havent found all the right osffsets to all the colours) Personally im gonna ditch the intial camera position setting, in favour of the option of a white background.
Guy
From the videos I posted before, you can see what colours differ (the initial blob is red, then goes to purple later on, and the glow is green).
Ive sorted the issues arising from the previous posts (will update rar this eve) I cannot find where that (green) glow colour is located in the bios, if anyone knows please PM as ive been unable to find it, ive checked the threads in this forums to no avail.
guy
Could you PM me the memory locations of the camera angles?
Will that change the initial blob colour (as it is red at the beginning, even though I set it to blue)?
also update the readme.txt file as it still lists it only will load RGB (i think you said that the person hosting the file has the newest version anyway)
i'll get a video of what i plan to do with this later tonight done up
awsome work, i was wondering how long it would take for someone to make something like this
currently (this may be what you were talking about already) the flubber changes it's color partway through the animation
i used the same xboxkrnl.img file and created 3 different cam angles to see which i liked most, for some reason cam 3 left my colors at green rather than changing them to blue (maybe i only entered 6 color values rather than 7, i'm going to redo it)
and for cam 4 it didn't change my image, it looked like a 2 ( i probably fucked up here too, gonna redo this one also)
*edit yeah i got it all working, user errors i guess, and lack of user error checks :Þ
this is THE greatest bootup animation ever, a must see
http://psilocybe.emo...m/psilocybe.avi
*from a premade bios, i'm sure there are better out there from source and from x3bios live config
i had to use xbtool, hex editor, flubber tool, and logox2 to accomplish this, but it was well worth it as you can see. plus who else *currently* has a reverse shadow doorway?
actually i may just end up taking the X out of the thing completely, yes that shall be my next task, remove everything but the flubber in the begining and have the reverse shadow in the end
*damn thing didnt' work out the way i wanted at all
Thats pretty sweet. Now what we need is all these cool programs turned into one. (and of course someone needs to make a program that will perform the hex edits you did)
Its 3:30am when i posted this so im sorry for any errors ;-)
Regards, guy
i'll get the new version now, but i just noticed that orange/yellow will only work for the first color (flubber color i believe?) and not for the others, they are unrecognized
Edit: I'll try it out tommorow night...
hmm... while i like that you have added the whitebg patches, someone told me that it removes the entire geometry and only leaves the flubber
plus if i do the hex edits for bg color myself it lets me get stuff like this
http://psilocybe.emo...verseshadow.avi
i love it too much

when using the 4983 bios xbtool said it was an unrecognized kernal so i wasnt sure if it would work with it. Can i still change the colour presets with xbtool with 4983 bios? |
xbtool tool will not work with 4983 because part of it is encrypted. You will not be able to change the logo color either since the code for it seems to have been removed.
I'm uploading an update just sent to me...
Have fun!
I'll post when I upload something new. If you don't see me post, it's still the old version!
that's awsome, just messing with some alpha levels?
those are the little sub blobs that are always in the animation, they just don't have the main one in the middle
ah yeah ok, that would make sense
sorry for the lack of faith in you
Ok yet another new thing. I've managed to change the camera for the 4981 bios. Not the angle like in the other program but the actual movement. Heres a vidcap I did http://www.angelfire...gelfly/4981.avi I'm busy today so I might not be able to do anything more with it until tomorrow afternoon.
forgot to add you need to paste the link in your browser
5 down, 10 more cam angles to go
that first one i have not seen yet at all
any insight as to where in the kernel you are doing these modifications?
post some offsets/values maybe?
Ive also found the locations of the camera, just having a slight difficulty maniupulating the dat#a in a meaningful way, there are also ALOT of values that need changing so it might take a while to code in the new modifications, in 4981.06 the camera offsets begin at 0x753DC
guy
Great work guys. If we impliment a Win32 GUI, we can add all of the features mentioned above.
The program should:
1) Load BIOS/Kernel
2) Config Blob/Fog Colours
3) Color Mod (Change the X-Logo Colours, like XBTOOL)
4) Change Camera Position
5) Export BIOS/Kernel

I sent clogicgmather the files and info he needs to do that using the DLL version of xbflash I made for use with xbtool. It's extremely simple to use, if he chooses to use it.

I hate to sound like a n0ob and such, but can one of you post a tutorial on how to use this with xbtool please?I got it all to work after and hour and a half and i dont even know how i did it .Now my wife wants purple on hers lol . |
Use XBTool to unpack the BIOS you want to modify, and put flubbertool.exe in the folder it creates. Next, run the tool and input the values. Use XBTool to repack the BIOS, and flash it to your modchip.
Ok the I hit a snag with the scene geometry so here are the the instructions for the flubber color
goto 0x5d9a7 and from there overwrite the values with: e8 b6 34 fe ff 90 90
now goto 0x40e62, it should be a bunch of 0's. From there enter the values: C7 41 44 00 00 80 3E C7 41 48 00 00 80 3E C3
Ok now to explain how to change. the bold numbers the pointer locations I did red (44) first then changed green (48). The values for each are beside them I made thenm italic for easy viewing. The value for B is still in it's regular spot. I hope to have the scene geometry problem worked out soon but I'm not sure if I will.
QUOTE (angelfly @ Jun 13 2004, 09:39 AM) |
w00ty w00t w00t I'm happy to announce another breakthrough I've succesfully been able set all the values of the fluber color RG and B there is no more need for one of them to be set to 1.0. I'm using the 4981.06. I'll going to try and do it for the scene geometry and fog as well and then I'll post instructions. As far as implementing it into clogicmathers tool I'll discuss it with him once I finalize everything. |
YES! finally i can do what i've wanted to, been too lazy to try what was suggested to try before
so which one of those values is for blue then? how about alpha value?
and this will probably sound dumb, but just the values that are in bold are teh RGB? and i thought they were stored backwards (BGR)
ok im kinda new to this even tho ive been loooking at it forever. i love the colors white and black. i am wondering wat i would have to do to make the boot anim black and white. help teh n00b lol

yes it's possible but clogicmathers tool doesn't support those colors so you'll have to do it manually. Look back for a thread titled 'X2 Coloring tutorial'
QUOTE (clogicgmather @ Jun 13 2004, 01:09 PM) |
No the values in italics are the values you need to edit, the pointers can now effectively stay in place and you just fill in the values (floats reversed) for the different RGB.

got ya, other than the blue part...

guess i'll have to read round for the locations of blue then, i knew that the post said they are in same place but i never knew that place to begin with
hey,
this may sound kinda dumb, but whats geometry1,2,3?
yea but which is for what becuase i did red green and blue and they all looked blue( whole machine)
oh yeah forgot all about flubber tool, i always forget i have it
did you update it so that it will not be off by one value or whatever now?

I'm not really sure how many people are willing to do this but I gonna post the instructions to be able to fully control the RGB of the flubber and the scene geometry. The flubber part isn't hard however the scene geometry will require changing ~65 bytes but after you do that it alot easier to change the color whenever you want. I'm also going to post a video of the result. |
did those 65 bytes end up working out or no?
also i thought i knew what i was changing with the string C7 41 44 00 00 80 3E C7 41 48 00 00 80 3E C3, but i reread what you and clogicmather said, and now i'm confused
the italics contain 5 numbers, what exactly are they for?
i thought that the bold were the numbers i was supposed to change, but when i re read everything i confused myself
ha, ok i think i finally understand, though parts of my questions are missed each time. this time i will only ask one question
the 4 values in italics are BGRA right?
where can you change the camera angel in hex?
ok thanks 4 explaining it
Oh yes it looks good. I barly noticed it.
Interesting work everyone. As for the deformity, it's small, don't worry about it. If it really pisses you off, I'm sure you'll find it sooner or later
Try it people - it's a great tool!
angelfly: what about those instrustions???
WOW i'm FINALLY in the right state of mind to figure out what the hell i'm doing to figure out what a float is
man
sorry for the "newbish" questions earlier angel
ha i tried setting the RGB values to 00000000 and left the alphas alone, but i think i must have fucked up something else cause when i turn on my xbox i don't get any video or sound, but it's fully booted
guess i'll start from scratch in the morning
also hackman will let you paste in hex blocks as well as octal decimal and ascii
alright i'll retry tomarrow
also any progress for any color you want on the flubber also so i could get white or black flubber?
i'm just so glad i finally got it through my thick head what a floating point number was, dunno why i couldn't figure that out when i used them constantly programming
Can you take out the flubber animation at the beginning and put just a picture on there?
no
clogicmather, yoshiro, or anyone else, what are teh chances you could make the settings in flubbertool optional so that if i only wanted to change one part of the file i could?
i'm running into some problems right now when trying to alter some different parts of the bios with different cam angles
right now i'm just trying to set cam angles in the krnl img then hex from there, but they don't seem to like to boot up when i do this, i get now video or audio, it woudl be nice if i could just mod only the cam angle to one of the 15 with the working bios that i currently have already working rather than all teh disapointments of my failures after all the hex editing
psilocybe: were you talking about the movement of the camera or just the angle?
edit: ok I assumed you were talking about the movement so I went ahead and wrote an app to change it for the given kernel. It currently has 2 different ones and I should have a bunch more by the end of the day and then I'll release it.
yeah camera positions and such
that'd be awsome, the countdown is ticking on how much longer i'll even care about x2 bios, cause onece my x3 arrives and is installed bye bye x2
where is this fabled ind-bios has the tool picked up instead of the ind-bios
you're looking at 2 completely different projects $eEnN|i
currently testing and it's working great
thanks so much for all the help you've provided in the past angelfly as well as the great apps
and also to everyone else that has contributed to this over the years
one last thing i was looking around the forums and can't find info on the little bit of green glow that i still have left in my bios where the flubber fades to teh splash screen, any clue on this?
what are the settings for no back ground ,no fog,but white back ground and normal machines movement and blue flubber.
I tried BBBBBBBWWB1 BUT no luck.

Hi, it's me again.
I downloaded Flubber Tools v2.0 and it doesn't seem to work for me.
Everytime I try it it gives me this message "cannot find or extraxt xboxkrnl.img"
Anyone know what the problem might be?
Even if rename the bios to bios.bin or put the xboxkrnl.img I still get the same error message.
Any help is appreciated.

Just Type N instead of W, this worked for me!
Scorpion-X are you sure you had the bios.bin in the flubbertool folder? Was your bios in 256k?
you need to unpack the bios with xbtool. this will extract the 3 compunents on the bios: xboxkrnl.img (kernel), 2bl.img (2bl) remainder.img (remainder)
copy the anim editor to the new dir and edit the anim the way you want. when done, repack the bios with xbtool and save it where you want.
the app cannot edit the kernel while the bios is packed

poor bored little boy
funny, i have html code turned off, it should have clearly been [brag] in bb format
anyway here is what i put together tonight for my new black and white bios with the x3
http://psilocybe.emodchips.com/x3.avi
it's not quite the same feel as you get with the x2 bios and modding it all fully with hex and other tools from the scene, but man it looks awsome, plus i get random cam angles at each boot if i want
it went all bunta on me... It repacked and shit like it is meant to but when I loaded my bios onto my xbox and when I turned on my xbox with my new bios it was a white screen with the sound in the background and then when it was supposed to show the xbox logo it turned the screen to black with a pixelated Xecuter2 logo on the bottom and then it went into evox weird.... Any ideas on why that would happen?
well by feel i meant feeling from doing it all with the hex values and programs made by individuals in the scene
for right now the green is there due to the way the x3 configs the bios, but keep in mind this is an early build of the x3 config system, we are doing lots of heavy beta testing for it right now
some of the cam angles i've seen that have been done with hex edits are not available as you have probably already noticed by my video, esp zooming cam angles
also there is MUCH more to the x3 than simply chaning the bios on the fly, maybe i should post a video in the xecuter section tonight to show off more of what the dash has to offer rather than just the simple bios tweaks
Wait.... X3 is a chip right? or is it a bios? I have a Xenium chip with X2 bios, will I be able to use x3 bios?
Anyway... I use 4983.06 and when I edited 4981 to be the different colors, some of my back ups didn't work, so I said screw it and when back to my 4983.06 ... this animation coloring tool works with 4983.06 but I wont be able to change the logo right?
Thanks.
there is an x3 chip and an x3 bios
the x3 bios is 1meg, so a chip that can hold 1meg will boot the x3 bios, but it's pointless to do so, as you will not be able to use ANY of the features of it other than what you can already do with the x2 bios, in other words you need the x3 chip to run the x3 bios to potential
This tool is great... I made a blue background (the three scenes), with a yellow flubber and red glow first and last. It looks pretty sweet then it fades to the green "X" logo, only wish I could change that on X2.4983.06.
do it on 4981 rather than 83

I dont know if this would be useful to anyone (i want it so thats why im doing it) i think i can make the camera motion random, looking further in the bios there are 4 animations and even the code the generate a random selection of the camera motion, if people are interested when i get it fully sussed i'll put it in flubbertool. |

oh yeah and for anyone having trouble adding your logo with logox2 while using flubbertool, these are the steps I took.
get a fresh x2 bios I use x2.4981.67
-open xbtool, and make all the changes you need to at this point. close xbtool
-open logox2 and apply your logo
-open xbtool again and unpack your bios.
-make your changes with flubbertool
-repack your bios with xbtool and you are done.
these are the steps I had to figure out, any other way didn't work for me.

clogicmather. if you add the patch I could test since I Have a 1meg split tsop. so no risk of fragging my xbox.
The xbox text is part of a porting of Kraven_uk and The_Lynx's version of xbtc, that will allow you to load an .x file into flubbertool/xbtc and patch straight into your bios.
If you have any problems with FT acting up then please download the file again from the same location (the xbhacker address not the tna-clan one) ive sorted out a few bugs with that and the camera options.
