The login screen is pretty much static if you want to edit it you will need to edit the xml file LoginScreen.xml and change it too suite your likeing I guess If there is enough outcry for it I could make it so people can set a custom image for it but would need to talk to Blackbolt about it first.  the original pne actually looked nothing like the current

Infact here is a screen shot of the old one that used the same image as the kia blade for the background if I remember correctly

Well here's your first out cry my friend it would be extremely nice to edit the logon screen to match skin themes dont you think?

I do think but the thing is some people can have the mc360 login but after they log in it switchs to pm3 because each user can have their own skin set thats why it was made static and plain

i agree what it'd be nice for a custom login in screen but i was thinking the same thing jezz mentioned.  the point of profiles is so that someone can have their own settings/theme.  maybe the admin/master user's theme or settings is what sets the login screen?

yeah, it's not a hard edit to change the image or have it change with a theme.  i just know that if i created a login screen and then someone else's profile changed their theme, i'd be pissed to see a different login screen.  it's perfect to have it customizeable for single profile xboxes, but like i said before, it should be an option that only the master user should be able to do.

you could make it an option to select a new picture.  someone would just have to code it in.  maybe when i have time or maybe someone else will take care of it.

Of course we can I just posted what was the original pre pre pre beta loginscreen.xml that I made about 2 months before logins even got added to xbmc   as just a good faith thing because people wanted more I didn't even change it from what I had at all

I think it would be cool if, when you highlighted a username on the logon screen, it checked their selected skin, and displayed their custom login screen picture. Sorry if what I said is a bit confusing.

that wont happen ever and would need to be programmed into xbmc anyway

This is an interesting topic, and it all looks pretty good so far. Couple of points / questions.

I agree with the sentiments of Jezz to be honest, as regards the log in screen being of a more generic nature. To me, any individualness (lol, as if thats a word!) should only begin once a user has logged in and every user should be faced with the same log in screen.

That said, I was wondering if it is possible to have the login screen with a duplicate of the splash, simply with text over laying. The effect I am trying to acheive is that on boot, a splash comes up, couple of seconds and then it appears that the login text fades in.

Hope that makes sense and is possible, as I would say this would maybe would solve the dilemma of what graphics to have for the log in, instead of trying to match the skin, match the splash, and then the intro sequence starts to work together.

So here is a quick mock up to show what i mean, only a quick job but u get the idea...

updated the login mod so that you can choose a custom wallpaper for the login screen.  the updated version is just so that it works with the latest release.  don't use it if you use an older version of mc360 than 8/8
