Call around to your local video game stores or dvd rental shops and see if they offer a dvd repair service. They probably have a good repair/cleaning unit. Though I wouldnt pay more than a dollar for a dvd cleaning/repair. Some might even do it for free.

Then look into buying a D-Skin to protect your DVD.

Says you should use a coffee filter, that should take it off...

(Though I dunno how you can feel confident smearing peanut butter on your discs...)

just wipe it off with a paper towl (coffee filter would work also), dont run it under water!!!
the oil is what helps it. I havent tried chunky penut butter yet. Always smooth biggrin.gif

EDIT: is there a reason why my post count isnt going up when i post? I know ive posted more than 4 times.

I could never muster the strength to smear peanut butter on my disks even though I knew it worked.

Brasso, toothpaste and peanut butter all work, anything with abrassives in it is bad for the CD so that rules out most cleaning products. Anyways interestingly enough a site said not to use toothpaste for some reason, I'm gonna have to try it on a cheap-o CD-r  to see if it hurts anything because I could have swore it works.

isnt it better to keep ur retail copy in mint condition and just play off legal backups?
(use some of the new TDK anti-scratch discs - apprantly 100x more tough than a normal disc, and cheap to).

how did it crack your cd? Did you follow instructions:

1. Wipe Penut Butter on back of cd,
2. Let it sit for aprox. 1-2 minutes,
3. Take a clean papertowl and wipe off the penut butter,
4. Put the repaired disk into thy disk reader,
5. Enjoy!

Admit it buddy, you really tried to eat the disc once you put peanut butter on it.
