Just like mainstream rock music like linkin park, mudvayne, whatever, it's all bullshit. I personally know musicians better than the people who are in some of those mainstream bands, but are their garage bands going platinum? Naw. But that doesn't mean they don't have talent. It's the same with today's mainstream rap. All this talk about G-Unit, Jay-Z, whatever has NOTHING on 80's and early 90's rap, where the rappers were actually REAL and had some talent. If you want talent in todays rap and not just hoes, bling, and drugs over and over and over with every song and every faggot that comes in trying to claim themselves a new original rapper you're going to have to look hard. There are many underground rappers who would tear Jay-Z to shreads. A lot of the mainstream and semi-mainstream could too, for that matter. Jada would eat Jay-Z alive. But it's all just marketing and image, man. Look past all the shit they're trying to throw at you and see that without the big names and the bling and the mtv videos, that Jay-Z and the rest of the idiots just plain suck.

i wouldnt go as far as calling it crap. just because you cant relate to any of it. at first i hated rap because the only thing youd hear is ice this and bling that. lame lame lame. if youve ever heard or seen a really good freestyler youll know that there is definately skill there. and there a lot of underground rappers that usually tend to be better, because they arent rich and dont rap about being rich, they actually have something to say. so before you ever call something crap know what your talking about.

second, tupac was not meant to be a leader and there are better rappers then him who are fighting about a lot more important issues.
for example take "immortal technique", he raps about politics, any one that listens to him will learn about some dark shit, and he his so devoted he turned away a record deal to stay independent! tupac only bitched about the ghetto like every else.

Anyway Jay-Z is the greatest alive IMO. If you say he isnt one of the greats you stupid and dont know rap. Your also most likely a Nas fan who cant let it go that more than 5 people like JayZ.
If Jay Z sucks so much why is he respected as one of the greatest rappers by most rappers (Royce 59, Dre, Em, 50, DMX, Canibus, Kanye, BIG, Jadakiss, Etc)?
