Nuclear power was "released" too early before it was totally safe. I think the best type of power, would be using the heat from the center of the earth, that shit they use in iceland(i think), nuclear is good too tho.

I think your definitions a little closed minded. We were definitely in a war during the cold war even though no shots were fired. In the Art of War by Suntzu, he states that the greatest Generals win wars without actually fighting. The founder of military science would be wrong by your definition. The Cold War was a great world wide conflict - with millions of casualties, vast wastage of resources, and human suffering. Although most of the casualties and suffering was on the Soviet side with them trying to keep up with the US.

If that were the case you would be asking when WWII would be starting because WWI did not involve all major powers - just major european and arabic powers. And remember, afganistan and Iraq were attacked by a multi-national armies.

The only plausible war would be USA - China, but the US has too much economic interests in China to start it.

Other than that India may be capable of starting a world war, they already are in disputes with Pakistan and China and have nuclear weaponry, as well as having a large population to sustain an army.

Also, forget oil as a reason for a war, as most of the oil in "dodgy" regions of the world will run out fairly soon (relatively speaking)

I doubt that there'll be a world war for a very, very, very loooong time though, because of international trade which the countries capable of starting a large war wouldn't want to disrupt.

But for the sake of peace here - why dont you define what a WW must be to be called a WW in your view. I would say that it must involve more than 10 countries or entitites that are located on atelast 2 continents (although battles need only take place on one continent), must involve massive resources, and must have a atleast a slight ripple effect on a few countries not (yet) involved.

If I had to bet on who is the next country to join the US (cause we have no intentions of leaving) in the super power club it would be china.

Part of the problem with predicting a super power though is that you almost never can. In 1941 would anyone have guessed the US and the Soviet Union were going to be super powers within that decade?

Most sino scholars dont consider China to be communist at all. They see their current government as a modified dynasty (simply because it is not passed down through bloodlines ). I even read books in college where they didnt mince words at all and called him emporor Tse-Tung. Dynasties have never excluded capitalism, and the Tse-Tung Dynasty is no exception.

I wasnt clear. China wants the surrounding land neighbors and taiwan to start paying tribute to them within this century (keep in mind that this is speculation). this conversation, capitalism, and being a world power have nothing to do with human rights. I was only stating that the chinese people have motivational reasons to work harder, the USSR people did not. They got paid the same regardless of how hard they worked, chinese get rewarded for taking on extra jobs and this has always been true (with the exception of the militant phase of the cultural revolution). Consequently, the USSR economy crawled, the chinese economy is growing at an extremely fast rate. One of the biggest differences now in China then 10 years ago, is that they have relaxed the number of employees a company is aloud to have ( i think it used to be six ). So now companies can grow and grow.

Actually, we do too, to an extent. Especially in CA. The financial burden on our public school system by illegal immigrants is breathtaking. One of the elementary schools I went to has since shut down due to a complete lack of funding and an inability to accomodate a massive rush of illegal students (which happen to be Mexican immigrants in this case).

The same goes for our Emergency Rooms. One of the most crowded emergency rooms in LA recently closed their doors due the same problems.

Candian Air Force
the f-15's must be for show because they don't appear on this website, but the calendar has them painted like the canadian version of the blue angels.

@Tony I served my country, I was even stationed in NAB Coronado where west coast SEAL team HQ is located, I wasn't a SEAL but I trained with a few of them during my freetime. Survival School which is offered to Army Rangers and any personel dealing with aircraft, is a a course that was taught by a canadian unit. 2 weeks in the wilderness with no food or water. The point is to survive.

Almost every southern state has this problem and a couple of northern states as well. I live in a relatively poor northern farming state, and we are having massive problems as well. I heard on the radio that Mexico was going to sue Arizona in international courts over their proposition to require legal resident status in order to qualify for education, welfare, and medical care. Thank G-d we have a president that wont join the international court system.

Please dont get me wrong - My dad was a full Colonel in the USAF which is why I spent most of my life in Alaska, and he only spoke highly of the Canadian Air Force.

My point was that I dont believe we actually sell them "full versions" (for lack of a better definition) of our planes. I believe we remove certain pieces and functionality from all exported war planes. I thought your post implied that we did not do that when it came to Canada.

when martin luther king/drew medical center closed here in LA, it closed the only trauma center in the area, next to the facility I work for. The increase in trauma cases in the last month and the freeze on the state budget from the federal level is leaving us with a financial burden of 1-2 million per month.(could go up even more, we have only been taking on the extra flack for 1 month)
Yesterday we had a nice meeting, infroming us of the financial burden. Since it is money that we can not be compensated for on a state or national level, we will begin laying off 300-400 employees in the next month.

I wont argue that SEALS training is tougher than SAS or JTF-2 or any of the other elite trainings. I will only say that different trainings have different focuses. Someone may do fine in SAS and then wash up in BUDS or vice versa. Its rare to find someone that can handle them all.

I am not just speaking out of my ass here. My friends brother is in Delta. He compares these trainings to certifications. Through foreign exchange programs he has done SAS along with SEAL and a lot of other trainings as well. I think anyone who has done multiple elite type trainings will say the same thing. They have similarities, but their differences outweigh their similarities. And whether one is really harder than the other depends entirely on the individual.
