I dont think the x3 has the power problem as I am fairly sure it only pulses the lframe. Definatley more to chipping a 1.6 because of the LPC rebuild though but once done there is not much difference.

With a 1.6 you need to "rebuild" the LPC which involves soldering a few wires or using a rebuild pcb. No problem if you are resonable with a soldering iron. There are plenty of Tuts that show what goes where.

I believe the only non-solder chip that you don't have to rebuild the LPC with is the spider chip.

No you dont need the rebuild for a solderless, use the xenium spice or the smartxx but stay away from the spider it BITES............

ok, i have v1.6 and am geting a X3 soon. so the only "drawback" is to rebuild the LPC and to do that all I have to do is solder a few more wires? sorry to cut in on the thread, but i didnt want to start a whole new one just to ask this

I think its about 5 wires, the points are bigger then the topside D0, so I dont think its that hard..
