i also had the same problem your LCD might need an update to its firmware. i updated mine with a usbthumb drive. so i would check lg website. hope that helps

Have a look on the back and see if there is a chassis number or give the full model number.
You have a fault on the TV. I have ASC access to LG information and bulletins so can check if there is a bulletin about your TV
One thing certain you can't update the "firmware" on it just by plugging in a USB stick
