Title: Flashfxp Cant Transfer Some Files

For some reason, FlashFXP wont transfer some files. It fails to transfer them, sometimes giving a message about PASV mode, but even when I activate PASV for uploading they still fail. I have tried closing FlashFXP and opening it again, but the same files just wont transfer. This has happened for some MP3s, some video files, and some roms so far. Its not consistent as far as file type, since some of the same types transfer fine. I figured I would try to get this problem resolved before I try to transfer anything big like backing up a full game. Anyone else have this problem? If so, is there a fix?

Are you sure it's not something simple - like illegal characters in the filename - as FatX does not support the same characters for filenames as Fat32.

Try CoreFTP... it always transfers my "hard to transfer" files.

A bit of a resource hog, but it is free and useful to have around.

If its in a shared folder it want transfer the files

it may be a media integrity problem which causes some files to have crc problems..

these cannot be transferred.

I just user IE works fine just ftp://xboxip

and login and then copy paste

Your filenames are either too long or have illegal characters.

I was also wondering this.  Flash FXP has options to make file names have all caps, no caps etc. but nothing realy configurable.  Is there a utility or FTP client that will do this.  

I was trying to transfer my digital photos to my xbox, and all of them had too long of names.  With 100s of photos, I was not about to start re-naming them.

I also found one in a strange location on the xbox scene tools list (under Managers/Gamesave tools

Well it worked great.  This seems to be a fairly good tool for renaming files to conforme with the FatX file system.

i've renamed all the files in the directory and it's still refusing to upload.... i'm getting really fustrated here.... LOL
