Under "scan titles" it would be nice to have a "Scan all" instead of having to go through the 8 folders I have. Just an idea which should be simple to implement

tnx for a cool prg

so basicly you want boost moded ftp?

sounds great...

but will it increase teh speeds over say flashfxp?

anyway, it whould be a great idea since it would be free... the team, if they wanted, could throw in some code to make it work with only ava...

A very simple feature: a button in "Manage titles on Xbox drive" that delete all savegames that haven't the game on hard disk

what i would like to see is:

- "shutdown xbox" button.
- file extract option in iso browser.
- delete folder when deleting games from hdd within qwix.
- some feedback when patching xbe's (see craxtion's xbe patcher).

As mentioned before, ablility to shutdown/restart xbox xbox when finished.. maybe even option to turn off PC when done.

And the transfer "whatever-file" function would be great
And if thats implemented, then why not add support for auto-renaming files to XFS format at the same time. (Basically for transferring mp3:s)
That would really be great to have when transferring lotsa files w long filenames.
Sidenote. My ava hangs after transferring ~10 long filenames in FlashFxp. Never had prob w Qwix Iso transferring though...

Multigame support is a must!   I use qwix all the time since it's the best program to create isos in my opinion, the user interface is the most straight forward and easiest of all iso programs out there...

however, before I build an iso I have to mess w/mxm.  I'm running Morden's Audio Hack V3 and since he's switched to MXM i've become addicted to the video features.  Making multigame disks right now is tedious - an option to calculate which games you could fit on a disk would be nice too - there are some freeware tools out that will calculate how you can split up folders.  I used them to figure out how to backup 35GB of MP3s onto CDRs(most cds ended up almost completely full).

I don't know how feasible it would be to have an option to combine ISOs to accomplish the task.   Also I don't know if there's any ill will between the Avalaunch team and Ben from MXM, but CDX could be used as an alternative instead or maybe an Avalaunch lite could be used on the multigame disks.

CRC checking during "Create ISO from ftp" when using Avalaunch.

This would be the end-all-feature in my book.   All the suggestions I've read are awesome, especially multi-disk mode (mxm)!  I do sometime use Craxtion just for that!

However, I create my backups by ftp'ing directly from the D: and I have to test them because sometimes they don't work and I have to redo them.  Seemingly copying to the harddisk then ftping is always reliable, but I have the original 8 gb drive and it fills quickly.  Since you've got the software on both sides - when avalaunch and qwix are talking - avalaunch should do a crc and send it to qwix, which would then check it's recieved file and reget it if there is a problem.  I think this would be a killer feature - I know I'd love it, and it shouldn't be too hard to implement using simple .crc files and a naming convention.  If people don't want to add the tiny amount of time for it, it could be a checkbox option.

Your software rocks!  Thank you!!!

The onething at the moemnt i'd like to see in qwix which isn't there- is the ability to read the xbox dvd-r backups from the pc's dvdrom drive like you can with xiso 115, the author of that prog has released the source as he's not gonna be supporting it anymore- was wondering whther it would be possible to lift that from his source possibly?

Could there be support for iso extraction/ftping straight from rar's?

thanks guys keep up the great work

i really like quix, thanx for that great app!
but there is one thing i'm missing:
show me the free remaing space on xbox hd in the "manage game titles" section!
i think that wouldn't be very hard to implement.. thanx

EDIT: just read that you didn't do that because every dash checks the free space differently:) no prob

1. Xbox to xbox game/app/file clone (site to site) avec le boost mode

2. Feature to grab a game's save files with it in a rar/zip in the created ISO dir. This of course would require a database of games & their save filenames, so that's a long shot.

No site to site transfer methods work that well for me; but even if it streamed through the qwix host that would be better than downloading to my pc then uploading to another xbox. Not that I do this all that often, but it beats using dvds to clone your xbox, because it's always current.

Or the availability to the source for some people to port it.

With the option to copy other files then only ISO's.
Or am i being stupid and is it already possible to copy other files?? (I don't use win, so i don't know)

Anyways, good job!

a neat feature would be to

clean unnecessary files from copied isos from the box.

Its quite a pain to look for each game on dome forums and see which files are unnecessary. Would be some GB to get rid of.
I dont speak of game related stuff just Demos/adds and so on..

id like to see that...

when can we expect a new release?
compressed iso support?
batch create iso?

I see that the boost mode feature is now being shared,
what other apps are in development that support it?

the most usefull thing would be to be able to use qwix to do all what a FTP client can do (transfer all types of files on both ways)<
because the boost mode is very usefull but I can only use it with ISOs...

It would be great if batch mode worked for getting isos from the box.  I'm currently working on "defragging" the drive, but tranfering all the isos off one at a time takes forever.  Thanks for a great prog.  Keep up the good work!

qwix should have drop and drag, or a file manager like avalaunch has, where you can drag a folder from the pc to the xbox without having to create an iso first (like flashfxp).  That would make a great program THE BEST program!

Multiple destinations.  I have 4 boxes on a network and if I could queue up a bunch of iso's to go to all the boxes, or say this iso to these 2 boxes, this one to that box and that one to this box, it would have have everything I need.

How about keeping a list of iso's that are on the pc. I'm one of many using a software exploit with the original hard drive in my xbox. When I want to run a game, I delete the existing iso and load another one on (Burst Mode rocks!).

It would be nice if I could just select the game from a list in Qwix and hit load.

Arbitrarily uploading whatever files through boost mode..

It'd be nice to be able to transfer a buttload of roms of mp3s, or an iso thats already extracted, whatever..

I Agree! It is real pain to upload something else to xbox cause there is no such software, and this feature would be really easy to add to qwix cause it can handle the uploading in boostmode already.

So, is it only a matter of time when we can see the Qwix working as a perfect uploader for xbox? tongue.gif

Also i'd like to see the live rar extracting too (but i dont see this so important than the anyfile uploading ability), though same result if you'd unrar it by manual cause i understod that you'll have to unrar the whole thingie to get a grip of the iso. (Thats the way compression works in this case)

Nice program though! cool.gif

I think a great feature for Qwix would be an option that a user could turn on to automatically rename "dashupdate.xbe" to something like "dashupdate.bak" when making an ISO or transferring games.  This would eliminate the annoyance of many games trying to update a users dashboard when loading a game. Thank you for your time and consideration.

It's a pain to sort through other peoples suggestions before posting, so this may have been suggested before... I don't know.. but my router decides to be a POS every once in a while and drop connections, unfortunately when this happens I have to restart my upload.. and when it restarts.. it starts from 0% so how bout` an option to resume.. or skip files already uploaded .. have it be a user option so it's not forced, that way if you needed to over-write you could.

Idea for game manager.

could you make it so that when you select scan titles it scans all the added folders and gives you a list of all installed games/apps that it finds.. instead of having to select the different folders to view.

Team Avalaunch,

Many of these suggestions have already been stated by other users, but I hopped that duplicate suggestions would catch the development teams eye quicker, than 1 time only suggestions.

*FTP Boost Mode
  - "Lite" version of FlashFXP, to FTP Upload (with Boost Mode) Files

* File Extraction
  - Search for Single File in ISO, then Extract, say default.xbe

*Shell Integration
  - Aka SimpleX, right click and make ISO (of folder), or extract ISO, or FTP Upload as is

* File Filtering
  - Automatically removes files from FTP Upload.  Qwix could have a BLACKLIST, such as dashupdate.xbe, update.xbe etc.

* Extra Options
 - Shut down XBOX After Transfer
 - Reboot xbox after transfer (This would allow refresh of listing)

* Batch ISO Creation
 - Select multiple folders for ISO Creation

* RAR Support

Thanks Team Avalaunch!!, great App

All I want is for Qwix to be able to look in more directories than 1 at any given time for games.  Make it configurable!  I currently have games in /F/Games/, /F/Games/Admin/, /G/Games/, and /G/Games/Admin/.  It's especially a pain when I want to save a list of my games and I then have to go and edit the 4 seperate lists together!

Probably already mentioned before.

An option to set the transfer method to not overwrite if the file is the same size.

I can not begin to count how many times I get to 98% upload only to have it hang when I run low on space.  Not overwriting everything I already have would help a lot.

Feature for PC side  tracking of last file transfered.  This way if your network goes down you can begin transfer from that point in the ISO instead of having to start all over.  Useful w/ those who have wifi enabled networks.

A Feture request would be for Qwix to atleast tell you that the hard drive had become full during the transfer.  Currently for me atleast it will say that everything went ok...which can be a pain because, you have to remember the last item to transfer so you can go and delete it.  You may not even notice that the hard drive filled up until later.

Some fantastic suggestions from people - if they were to be implemented this would definitely hands down be the best.

Personally i'm already 99% satisfied with this prog - ive been using it for years, and only encountered problems with a handful of games (dvd2xbox to copy original game on xbox, then create iso onto computer using quix - wouldn't happen. created an iso that was kb's big). Then i'd use an alternative but this is the quickest prog to use.

features that people have mentioned and i'll second (or third or fourth) them:

- command queueing for multiple xboxs. Listing the available xbox's as big icons on the left (instead of the current pull-down menu), so you can select easily. I actually dreamt of that feature. i like setting up transfers and buggering off somewhere else in the house leaving it all to do.

- extract iso's from RARs

- Upload multimedia files (episodes, movies, mp3 albums) to the xbox. not crucial but it'd be a nice feature. It's easy using flashfxp but if quix takes care of everything then less appz to use!

Already this is an awesome program, my favourite. Have always used it since it first released, and my app of choice and recommendation. If no future release was to be made, wouldn't be a prob because this is still fantastic.

I noticed something on the team xecuter front page. The latest post (360 Update), i read at the bottom "btw Quix2 rules!". what's the deal with that? something we dont know? is quix2 coming sooner rather than later? huh.gif

Well let's say I have the friend who let's say is mildly retarded and has no clue how to up a game to his box...I just thought would be cool if I could FTP into his box over net and use the load iso feature to do it for him.

Ripping a game from someone else's box to your PC works fine though, just can't Load ISO to his xbox..soon as it sees ava it goes into boost......never thought to try it with evox, but then I don't think Qwix works with other dash's does it?

(You may be thinking ...well if he can set up FTP to Xbox for me he can't be all that retarded..well it was me at his house setting it up so I could get in...)

* option to add "(REGION)" after game names. makes it easier for me to know when to use videomode switcher (which would be nice to have built into avalaunch)

I have tried out Qwix now and is very nice, BUT i miss a feature a lot that is included in "XBOX ISO Transfer 1.0"
and that is the function to extract ISO from RAR and then transfer.  Most of the ISOs is stored in RAR format to save space
and I then have to manually extract the ISO to be able to transfer it to the box with Qwix.
With XIT I can just select the RAR-file and it will extract/transfer in one go without further handling.
Due to this missing feature, I rather stick to XIT. But if it is included, I will most probably make Qwix my main
software for handling the XBOX.

Best regards

If you are going to use avalaunch, I would recommend some changes:

- Fix the problem causing crashes when starting games/apps (led turns and stays red)
- Add an option to turn on antialiasing for the fonts
- Add an option to turn off version information, load display, IP and time
- Turn off all the extra featues (FTP, News, Pic of the Day, etc.) by default for multidisk menus

Add the abiliity for Qwix to send a "site shutdown" FTP command to AVA after the ISO(s) are sent to the XBox.
Just add a checkbox on the ISO/job transfer status screen saying something like "Shutdown XBox after completion.   Line up a bunch of ISO's to transfer and go to bed.  Qwix will shut it down when its done.

Also it would help out in some situations if Qwix could send a command to AVA to either have it reboot or refresh the games listing when its finished sending the ISO's to the XBox.

This request might be a little out there but I'll throw it in the mix anyways. If your planning on making it a full FTP client anyways it would be nice if I could go directly from xbins with a file to my xbox HD. Say I wanted to get the new xsnes9x emu. I would go thru the normal mIRC step but rather than opening up FlashFXP or Cute I'd open Qwix. Select the file for download and it would download the rar to my PC's HD in the first step. Next it would uncompress the rar and put it in the selected directory on my xbox's HD. Granted the rar file structure would have to be setup properly so as not to have a file in a file named the same .ie. xsnes9x\xsnes9x\default.xbe wouldn't show up good in many auto add menu's.

Is this even feasable or am I just thinking outta my ass?

That's what Qwix is now. See this is the part of the forum where users throw ideas about features they would like to see implemented in the program. Devenic already said he plans on making it transfer other files not just iso's. I'd also like to be able to access xbins and other FTP servers as well. uncompressing rar and zip on the fly would just be gravy.

I would love it if Qwix could patch a full ISO on the fly, it has the XBE patcher, but to not extract would be very nice.  I would like to move altogether from Craxion, since the new version crashes on me half the time when I try to patch an ISO.
I know it will patch the .xbe when it uploads, but it would be a beautiful thing if I could patch the iso without uploading.

thx for the great app.. makes life so much easier!

Also it would help out in some situations if Qwix could send a command to AVA to either have it reboot or refresh the games listing when its finished sending the ISO's to the XBox.

these would be great. In next qwix it would be great if u add multigame disk tool and the iso with more than one game can be creat on the fly from the xbox hd.you could add suport for queue tasks ex I queue these tasks
1-creat an multigame iso with ex F:/Games/Soul Calibur 2 and F:/Games/THPS4
2-creat another multigame iso with another games
3-creat another multigame iso with another games
4-shutdown xbox and pc
If Quix could do this it would be GREAT,I queue this tasks them go to bed and when I wake up the isos are created and my pc and my xbox are turned off biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

Making it a full features FTP app may be going a little far.  Right now QWIX is cool becuase of its functionality and ease of use.  If you start adding things that the "average" xbox newb can't handle, you'll end up with a lot of "problems".  (read:  idiots don't take the time to figure out what theyre doing before they try to do it, then complain when it doesn't work).

Granted, I like the idea of being able to access XBINS directly from QWIX, then choose to download and install directly to the XBOX, no need to store the file on my HD, extract it, then upload it.

However this could ultimately lead to a reliance on XBINS; if they were ever to be shut down, for whatever reason, that reliance could prove troublesome.  I have proposed previously in the Avalaunce suggestions thread a solution that I feel could aleviate any potential problems like that.  I have thought a great deal about it, and I honestly think the following "solution" would be in the best interests of the entire community.

Develop a decentralized file sharing system using principles similar to what torrent/overnet/freenet uses, however with one major difference.  The files available for download are released/controlled by their authors.  A validation key system could be implemented allowing authors to make files available on the network, maintaining their own directories with the latest versions and older versions for compatability/archival.  End users will be given a simplified, structured interface that allows them to "browse" to the file they want installed (maybe a directory structure, just keep it simple to find the latest version of the exact file they are looking for).  The file/s, once selected would then be downloaded from multiple sources and, depending on if support via the dash was there, auto-installed.  End users could only "share" file/s they have previously downloaded, this would prevent users from contaminating the shared files with (porn, games, fakes, virii, other bs you find on other file sharing networks).  Basically, what I'm getting at is "censored, protected file sharing".  Bandwidth "shouldn't" be an issue due to the lack of unneeded network trafic and oversized files.

The only "real" problem I foresee with this situation is "who" determines "who" is a legitimate author making legitimate apps.  I think the community as a whole could police people releasing crap by simply not downloading it, but how do you prevent someone from releasing unneeded content on the network without at least some kind of predetermined panel of trusted administrators handing out the "author" keys.  Granted, I don't see how that would be much different then what XBINS does now.  They ultimately choose what content does/doesn't get on their server.

Anyway, there are a few "kinks'" that could use working out, but otherwise I think its a pretty solid concept.
