Title: Backup Original Xbox Hd

Is there a way 2 Backup an Original XBOX HD without installing anything on the HD.
I just want 2 make a backup of my undisturbed Original XBOX HD. then start messing
around with it ?

If you got a modded box.
Evox boot disc.
FlashFXP.
Ethernet card, cross over cables etc....
It is the usual way of doing it.. :D   Look at the tutorials....

Also I just got a networking card for my PC & it came with a cord 2 connect 2 PC together,
Will it work 2 connect my xbox 2 my PC or do I need to get some other cord ?

the card I got is "Linksys fast ethernet 10/100 networkcard" ---- model NC100U v2"

If you want to go directly from the PC to the Xbox, your cable should be crossed.
If you want to go from Xbox -> Hub -> PC, your cable shouldn't be crossed.

Quick tip on how to see if the cable is crossed:
To tell if your network cable is crossed you have to look at the RJ45 on each end of the cable.
If the wires inside the RJ45 is different than on the other RJ45 it's crossed.
If the wires look the same on both, it's not crossed.

I don't want 2 sound like a cheap bastard, but if I just cut my standard cat5 cable & resplice the
internal cords 2 match a crossover cabe, that should work right ? I don't have access 2 the tools
needed 2 make a crossover cabe.
