I would LOVE to see this on XBOX. Is the source code even available though? |
Well... I read mods for JJ2 can only be made with the source code...
and there are mods...
I also read about something that you could put it in Visual Basic or something?
I don't really know much about porting games....
i haven't played part 2 yet but part 1 was awesome
i would love to see both of them for the xbox
Reason # 5001 why we absolutly need a port of FreeDOS.
http://www.freedos.org/
or something open source that is DOS compatable, but FreeDOS is definatly the best of them all.
Also note that there is Jazz Jackrabbit 3 for the GBA! :)
As a matter of fact look at the DOS OS section of this page, there are a ton of MS-DOS alternatives, at least one of them has to be useable and open source.

Huh? I thought Boch or something could run FreeDos on Xbox...
Boch and DOS BOX emulate old 8086-386 ased PC's, which is fine for aout any game made before 1992, but anything afer that usually reuired a 486 CPU or better, in which case we REALLY space need a native DOS port for he XBOX.
As for USB support, there are now availabe drivers for that too in DOS!
FreeDOS sources can be found here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/freedos/
and
OS UB drivers:
http://www.google.com/search?q=dos+usb&sou...=utf-8&oe=utf-8
and
DOS GUI's "Seal 2 is coming along well".

Yeah, find us a way to play JJ2 multiplayer on the Xbox :P
Did it have multi-player? If so then DOS does have networking and what not, would be very possible...
...if only someone with the know how would port FreeDOS of course.

Jazz Jackrabbit 2 DID have multiplayer (and really cool) Jazz Jackrabbit 1 did not.
Jazz Jack Rabbit was heaps cool, hurry up and port it!!
Hmm, turns out that Part 2 is a Windows EXE, and part 1 is the DOS one...
...you might just well be able to get this puppy loaded under WINE in Linux.
Buuummmppp!
was searching the forum and was wondering if someone has ported jazz jackrabbit 2 to xbox yet...they had this game at my primary school at it was freaking awesome!!!...so is there a way to play this game yet or will there be?
No, but you should be able to run it under Windows on the XBOX.
I do believe part 1 is now on the Dreamcast though...
