Title: Recommended Tsop Bios Combo
Post by: Joshua on May 20, 2003, 05:47:00 PM
Question for the seasoned TSOP flashers:

What 's the most recent/decent bios that works in conjunction w/ the native MS bios in a 4-bios [switched] TSOP implementation. Haven't had any sucess w/ D6 nor 4976.02... they seem to be mutually exlcusive as either the hacked bioses work else the MS native...

Cheers,
Josh

bump, I was wondering the same thing... Also, I was wondering if is would make any difference to have a "buffer" bios and have the original bios on bank1 and have the new x2 on bank4, if you put non-multiversion bioses on the middle two would that help at all? probably not. sad.gif

okay lets get the answering done here... this is the way it works...
bios's that are made for the 1.0 or 1.1 can be used for multi TSOP setup.
Bios list for 1.0
the bios's that are just made for the 1.0 version will work with the tsop multi, same go with the 1.1. if its made only for 1.1 then you can have those as a multi.
bios that do work as multi are 4974 and newer... and with the evox d.6 they have to be for the 1.0 or 1.1 only none of this multi version shit.
so an example is
orginal+evox 2.6+ 4973+complex 1.03
willl work... if you have anything newer or a bios that is multi then the system will frag or the bios wont boot.

Multiversion will work on both the 1.0 and 1.1 xbox if you wire it up correctly! I got my V1.1 and several v1.0 working with evoxD6ef+evoxD6ef+orig+orig and x2.4972.02+4976.02+orig+orig. You need a 3 way switch the center to a19 and the top to vcc+ and the the bottop of the switch to ground. I found this on the forum somewhere, and take no credit for it. BUT IT WORKS

Hey, once you enable TSOP writing by sodering in the jumpers, and do the 007 hack, then do the multi-switch tsop mod, can you flash the other half ot he tsop via evox dashboard?

you can.boot your box with the flashed part and when evox has loaded switch over to the other.

Niiiice,

with multi-boot bioses, and working MS bioses that when used you can get on live, what is the point of having a modchip?

I mean, TSOP seems like teh way to go, and less points to solder....

I agree that TSOP is a good way to go, if you mess up you can always buy a modchip and bypass the TSOP anyways.

I've got a question: and would appreciate it if someone answered asap....

How, or what, are you guys using to put together your bioses?

If someone could PM me with some help, that would be GREATLY appreciated.

Dos my friend...  It is a good thing!

Taken from the Tutorials Section:

4/ The last step is to make the bios Image:

First we need 4 different (or same) bios images for this purpose we will use this example:

EVOX 2.5 + x2 4973 + x2 4972+ ORIGINAL 4034

To make this a 1 meg file with this setup we go to command prompt (DOS) and type:

copy /b EVOX 2.5.bin+x2 4973.bin+x2 4972.bin+Original 4034.binMulti Bios.bin

After doing this we got our multi bios!! Next boot up EVOX, ftp the Multi Bios, turn all switches OFF, and flash!!

Seems like the " Vcc - A19 - Gnd " way works better then the " Gnd " only way  biggrin.gif

When doing the A19 -> vcc -> ground mod, you need a switch with three prongs right?

What do you do about A18? Is A18 left using a 2 prong switch?

Thanks.

Right, and you dont need to do anything to A18 unless you want to choose from 4 different bios
