About some of the skins, unfortunetly, My driver for my Video Card is screwed up, so my monitor doesn't display the TRUE colors! So on MY screen, these images look right to ME, and on YOUR screen, they might not sorry!
I only want 1 of the 4 skins created (from above), but I am not sure which one I want to go with, if you can help me out and vote, it'd be much apreciated!
Anyone willing to create any of these skins idea's I have for me? $25. Thanks for the votes and replies! Sorry for the long post! :o :blink: :unsure: :uhh: :boring:

if so.. its a fairly easy process and most ppl on xbox-scene dont charge for stuff like that, at least id hope not.
if all you are looking for is a skin to be made,kinda like these
then you have a few options.
you could go here and download UXarchitect and read up on how to make the skin yourself, or pick a couple images, and I or someone else will do it for you, FOR FREE.
anyways... send some feedback on what exactly you are trying to accomplish here.

It seems from what i've briefly read and seen that you need to know XML in order to create a dashboard?...Am I wrong? If that IS true, I dont wanna try learning! heh...

its great to have someone to make skins for our great dashboard.
you do use unleashX i take it? otherwise it would be hard to test your skin.
but anyways.. you need the .net framework installed for uxarchitect to work, you can get it from the windows update.
other than that... you just pick a backroun, loading image, make a font if you desire and you are set... at least its that easy for the bare minimum.
but thats a good place to start... no xml needed at all.

If I choose you to do it, Don't worry about photoshop, I will provide you jpgs of all images, sprites, etc, to go with the skin...I'll put the files in a .zip/.rar format...
What am I looking at as far as sprites go? How many different pictures will you need? Like, the backround...then each icon will need its own file, every menu item when you scroll, can I import my own font file to you to use? ...
I just need to know what I need to do on MY part so that it makes it easy for you so that you only need to do the XML part of it and not worry about the photoshop...

I'll need two backgrounds, 1 - 640x480 and 2 - 720x480 so i can cover both 4:3 and 16:9. The font you want to be used, both for the menu and misc text objects.
I would prefer using the landscape icons Inertia has provided us with, but this choice rests upon you completely, i just think they look good. If you choose to use them they are 254x55 if memory serves me right. And also an idea for the layout would help much, like you've done with the images in your first post.
Sorry to say... i will not even try to make a XBMC skin since that is very much out of my league. Well if you still want someone to assemble the skin for you just give me a pm or something.

Anyway, That sucks you can't rename the MY PROGRAMS/MY MUSIC/ETC...I hate that, its way too MS, and I want this to be more custom made for ME, i dont like limitations! But sounds good, apreciate your help, I'll get back to finishing up my skin and I hope it turns out the way I want!

this is absolutely the most beautiful skin for xbmc I have seen to date, I hope that it gets finished and put on allxboxskins!
Can I make 1 request or suggestion. One thing that I wish could be better with most, if not all xbmc skins is the big icon view. I use boxart for the folder view and cannot see much detail on the covers of my games, movies. If you could make the big icon view as big as possible that would be great!! Thanks again and keep up the good work

What I will go ahead and do from what it seems like a majority want, is go back to my original, and change it according to the needs of you guys,
*I'll change from that BIG icon (with the x-men people in it), to the smaller version
*I'll make the folder icon a little bit bigger
*I'll remove the large XBMC logo as well
*And stay with the classic, more professional look that it seems I had in the original
ANY MORE suggestions would be much apreciated! I can change ANY pixel EASY. If there is honestly 2 pixels you think is off, or need a different color, it can be changed, there are over 50 sprites in my skin alone sample alone, so feel free to tell me to edit anything...
Again, I am very greatful for all the feedback, the comments and suggestions, i got chills reading some of them! Feels good to do something everyone likes!
Anyway, keep up the feedback and I'll keep up my work

P.S. I have an update of my dashboard, but I was working from the last update, so I don't think you guys would like it too much since I worked on the update not knowing you guys wanted the original when I didn't work from that original... But I'll keep you updated, I'll probably post a sample picture of the next update on sunday, and from there, hopefully it'll just be a few minor touches and then I'll have it created!

I think that project mayhem is good... Just a little too heavy whereas these skins seem to be more subtle and elegant... A lot nice IMO, can't wait for release... Hopefully it will become the default xbmc skin

Man... Thank you so much for the compliments, It's amazing how nice some of you are, Never have I felt so good about my artwork, I've never really expressed myself artistically to the public mainly because I design for me (desktop wallpaper, etc) Anyway...

This is my next update, hopefully the last, Here's the thing, it is different. Different could be good and bad, take for instance, the new dodge viper...
I really don't think you guys will like it, but ya never know! again, tell me your like/dislikes, its not just me creating this, its you too. Whatever said will be applied for the next and final update, then it will be up to wabidwoverin (spelling?) to create it.
Well, I really don't know if you like it, let me know, its okay if you dont, just let me know what you dont like, do like, etc...

Another great design. A few things that I'd change are have the fonts be the same across the skin, use the font you used for the main menu in the other menus. Also, not digging the large buttons in the upper right on the main menu for power and options/return to dashboard. Maybe just making them smaller would help. And if it's possible, definately do the different resolutions for hi-def tvs and have the dash scale to fit. Thats something project mayhem does right, other dashes just get smaller and smaller to where you can't hardly read them.

WHEW!@#$ Thank you again, for that inspiring positive feedback! You guys are really great, good people!!
Updates on today include, Softening some of the lines (so it doesn't look crowded), Changed that font type on the secondary screen FINALLY (lol, I've been meaning to do this for a while, sorry guys), I also worked on saving a lot of these sprites to files for transfer to XML...
Here are the plans for this week on the skin :
WEDNESDAY - I will be sending it to the man creating this skin.
SUNDAY - I'm hoping he will have it complete by then, and then It'll distributed everywhere! We will probably be emailing each other back and forth in case he needs anything else from me, which is why I am saying SUNDAY...
So until WEDNESDAY, Please send me FINAL feedback on this skin, because midnight on wednesday I will send this whole thing to him to create! ANYTHING you could think of, Even if you think it might be too much to ask, just say it! Idea's come from Idea's, so just take the 10 seconds to reply to compliment or suggest!

Just a small suggestion, i think you should include the xbmc logo in there somewhere, even if its only small and in the corner, with the developers permission you might even be able to give the logo the metallic look of the rest of this beautiful skin

Just curious how you got the metallic buttons/logo so clean... I cant get anythign in photoshop to look that sharp. Always end up using some other 3d app then edit in PS.

Unless I run into a problem it should be pal/ntsc off the bat, but i can tell you right now we wont make sunday. Ran into some problems with the files so im hoping i can get the original psds soon.
@9T9 IMO the white was better than the gray (reguarding the .jpgs you sent me vs your last screenshot.) Its your call which you want to use, or maybe if its ok and you really want the tanish gray one we can make two different texture files for the skin.

The main button in the middle on the main page, it was created with a few different types of effects and transparency's, I'm not sure how I got it so clean, but the program I use is :
1997 MS Image Composer (MIC)
It's a graphic program that came with Frontpage 97. When Frontpage 2000 came out, they discontinued MIC and use a new program called MS PhotoDraw (MPD) 2000, and now THAT was also replaced with a program called Digital Image Pro! I found out this out today too! So the program I use is 8 years old!
I've tried Photoshop, HATE IT. Can't stand it at all, MIC has been doing me good since I got it, and it can do everything I want, hence why I only use it and don't want to learn other programs, BUT, Since I just found out there is a program SIMILAR to MIC, I just might have to try it out!
Anyway, thats the program I use, and thats how I got it took look clean!

Basically I need to split the select button into two peices, and the long right side will be attached to the center orb. When the orb switches so does the button, giving the seamless effect that its one button.
On a side note a skin thats 4:3 only is about 75.xml files give or take a few.
And the reason I need photoshop over photodraw is because it gives me much more specific coordinates as to where images lie in the great scheme of things. Photodraw does ok but you hafta do it by eye instead of an exact value. It makes the xml work alot easer imo, so hopefully well have it out within the week.

I have to say bottom OSD is a lot nicer imo, seems to just look more 'finished.' I also lol'd about the xmen comment, good to here that this is still coming along nicely, keep up all the hard work nine and wavid!!!

I haven't heard anything from WabidWoverin since I last replied to this post, so I'm not sure where the skin stands. Hopefully he'll give me an update sometime soon, until then, I'm not sure what to say guys, I'm sorry
But good news is, when I first designed this skin, and when I passed it on to WabiWoverin, I never even had a modded xbox! But just the other day (saturday), I got my modded xbox, and now that everything is running, and for the first time I actually SAW XBMC on my tv, with seeing some of the skins, and the way it looks/runs, its gave me some fresh idea's on some new skins, so over the next month or so, I'll be designing some new skin idea's, and of course, posting a poll about it like this...
So I hope this skin getes done soon so I can take a look at it, and then make a nice brand new skin that I will spend a lot of time on (Also getting a new $2,000 computer!)...anyway, sorry about no updates, thats the only update

I originally made a My Games tab hoping it is possible to do, so if it is possible, I believe VERY much so it will be part of the skin, because like you, I would LOVE to have a MY GAMES tab...I bought an xbox for the games mainly, so its not you only that would want this, its you, 80% of other XBMC users, and me, the creator of the skin! I wanted to make an comment about the OSD. I know that you finished creating the skin and everything but I thought that making the controls for OSD metallic or look more 3 dimensional like the My Videos DVD from the main screen would look cool.
I look forward to seeing these other skins that you said you were going to work on. When will we get to see those and start voting and giving suggestions on those :-).
I think this is a good start for you being recognized for your artwork. Im not sure what you do for a profession but with that kind of artwork you could do great designs for webpages. Just an thought

Well I just got the new build the other day and I have yet to get Project Mayhem II to work on my machine. First time I tried it all I got was the background and it froze there. Now all I get is blank screen. Now that I know I can rename the buttons I will do that . I guess you can do this in any Skin ?? Not just Project Mayhem II.

I know it has been quiet a while since I sent the pictures to Wabid (about 3 weeks?)...and I understand this skin isn't his life, so he's pretty busy doing other things, I really dont know where the skin stands on his part, if he's even been doing a lot or anything, either way I dont care because there is no rush at all...
BUT, If some of you know how to make this skin a dashboard (xml or whatever), help is always useful, I'm not sure when it would be finished, but if one of you out there feel you can get this done fairly quick and have plenty of time on your hands, then why not have a couple people working on this ya know? Not saying helping wabid, but doing it all by yourself if you know how to...
Again, i'm in a rush to get to work otherwise id do my usual thanks to everyone for replying! But I apreciate the feedback from my reply from just last night! Wasn't sure if I was going to run into any replies yet, but 4 of ya did!!

Haven't even gone to bed yet 
Been working on the graphics and trying to fix some stuff on my laptop and xbox 
, boy am I tired so this will be short and serious...I created some new graphics, nothing absolutley amazing, just working on those lil icons to fit the skin, and currently thinking of a skin to use for playing movies (i love the one posted earlier though)... I'll see what I can come up with though...
Apreciate the support, and now i got to goto work...and when I get home, going straight to bed, then waking up for work, then coming home to reply...so expect my next reply on friday night! Still looking forward to more suggestions...all the comments have been great so far in letting me know what is needed and wanted...

dont worry about the files, there is no need to delete them. Just ftp the XBMC folder into C or E or F:\ and set a link into your fav dash to open it up. Or set the bios to boot XBMC if u want to boot into XBMC

I don't really no what build I have (other than it is 1.1.0) as someone else installed it for me. Is there a way for me to make this skin work? And on a side note, Kotix that other skin is great looking. I really wish you would consider making an NTSC version of it also instead of just pal. I don't even think my tv supports PAL. Lol, thanks anyways if anybody can help me to get the 99 skin to work.

Now, about this: *All fonts changed to CastleTlig , I 've never create a font in xpr before, I 've always used the default ones or the ttf.
If you have ttf font i can try to arrange it for xbmc, but that will be for last.

You are now the default skin on ye ole xbmc at my pad. Great work!!
Living in the States, I have an HD compliant TV.
Your polished skin works awesome in the following modes:
NTSC 4:3
480p 4:3 (NTSC)
Unfortunately, it does not display properly when set in NTSC 1080i 16:9 mode.
Just thought you'd want to know this as you seem to be fine tuning the bejesus out of it.

These graphics, I sure hope you like them, of course they are just samples, I'm not sure if you guys will really like them, not like them at all, think they are just alright, or what, but just let me know, be absolutley honest with me, its okay! 
I of course can change anything you see, dont like the rough/textured borders? I can make it just 1 solid color, or if you dont like the keyboard, I can change that too...Just let me know on any improvements, if I just absolutley bombed these graphics and did a horrible job, let me know!!! This is the Media Player layout design when you play a movie & the shutdown screen at the top...The volume is to the top left of the media player, its those white little squares... turned up halfway

Wow those new screens are amazing! You must use Choice #1 it looks alot better. Maybe you could use another pic for the video cam though it looks 2 much like the picture 1. but please remove your name from the bottom right of the screen we all know you made this historic skin.

I am more of a fan for the second set of icons, the reason why is because there are already text labels for the category you are selecting. No need to have the Icon have the text too, also the icons look a lot cleaner. I am not wild about the keyboard layout but it does fit the overall scheme of the skin.
I know this has already been discussed before but i'll state it again. I think the icons should have a little color in them. I have been using the version that was released last week and I like the fact that The Weather Channel for instance is blue. Having everything grey tones does get kind of boring.

Obvioulsy we are all going to agree to disagree, the skin itself is nice, wait until it gets completey finished before saying "we should add color", "there should be no colors" When it gets released I am sure NT9 or whoever puts it out will provide the images, so you can make them whatever color you want and edit them yourself, I am a big fan of blue, so I will prbably add a slight tinge of blue into the icons, or maybe make them a gif and have them change color from red to blue or something, but thats for when its released and bug free, until then, just wait patiently for this to happen.....
But I also agree color is good, color tv was a great invention, and now with this you woldnt know the difference...haha...but this is something i will add when its released....

Now, it seems that almost all of you have a problem with one main thing here
... adding "color" to the skin. Half of you are "add color, its too boring, make the weather channel icon blue, etc", then the other half is "dont add color, it makes it stand out, doesn't go with the color scheme of the skin"...I'm really not sure what to do here. Not that this is a big deal, because in the end, anyone who wants the other, can just put theyre color in each graphic easy...But I think I might go with what I want, which is to keep the colors the way they are without any colors that dont match its scheme. If this IS a big issue to some of you, let me know, This isn't just my skin, its ours.
Welp, thanks for all the support since the last update of the graphics! I'm practically done here, just need to get some more input of what needs to be changed if any, and then its up to kotix and his genius xml work!

Unfortunately, it does not display properly when set in NTSC 1080i 16:9 mode.

phaelox : WOW Man, thanks A LOT of your input, I'd have to agree with everything you said, I'll switch the sequence from left>right, to up>down, to avoid overlapping. The keyboard, I agree with you on the "cleaner" look, I did the keyboard in somewhat of a rush just to get it out there, so I'll work on this and get that fixed...I also would go with icon choice #2 too! I'll fix up that "xbmc files", thanks for the help again, great you replied and let me know about your thoughts

Keyboard : Two looks, a chromish look, and a sharp look...You decide which one you prefer...
I see a majority wanted icon choice #2 (from my previous reply), so I just changed it a tad, what do you think of the it? Some were confused about telling the dfference between a camera and a camcorder, so I put into the DVD logo into the camcorder...as well as the Compact Disc Digital Audio logo for music...also made the MY FILES button picture a tad bigger, took away "XBMC Files" and just put "Files" and made the txt a little larger...
Well let's hear your input, let me know what you like/dislike about it...
I'll work on the graphics again on wednesday if needed...until then, would apreciate some comments

Ooh it's hard to say which is better! The flat one seems to fit the skin better, but the chromish one looks kinda better as the keyboard should stand out a bit.
I think I'd choose the chrome one though.

I would suggest scratching that one and creating a new one.. Personally I don't like "The Weather Channel" icon either and the graphic behind it isn't very clear as to the meaning of the button. I have a picture of what I think would look good in my head, wish I had the skills to get it out there and show you, heheh.. What I was thinking, use a graphic that makes it unmistakebly clear it's the Weather button, so you don't need the Weather Chan box or any extra text: a cloud.. a nice big gray silvery cloud, possibly with some drops falling from it (a few small drops or two or three big drops), or a lightning bolt, y'know what I mean? I'll see if I can find anything that illustrates what I mean.
Again, excellent work on the keyboard. Hope you go with #1

Thanks for all the great design work and effort you spend into this project. Excellent job!
I have to agree to phaleox. Since the XBMC is not limited to Kodak picture nor native Compact Disk Audio media, the 99 skin shouldn't suggest so either. Not to mention that a brand name shouldn't be used on a graphic of an open source project (except the 'XBOX' name, of course).
According to the keyboard, #1 (the chromish one) is more stylish and looks really outstanding. I hope you decide for it.
Besides the above:
There were several requests about the TV standard the skin gets adapted to.
My comment on this: It would be really nice if you would test the skin on a widescreen TV (I'm personally using a 16:9 PAL TV) before you realease it.
Keep up the excellent work, thanks from all of us who read this thread since it started. We all can't wait to see it coming alive as "release" version.

bartender_dmb, Yea I'll send ya that forest picture, did you want the actual forest backdrop? It is a different color (just so you know), I tweaked the color scheme of it to make it fit my design idea...but here is the thing, its on my old computer, so I'll have to bring out my ol pc and save it to a disk then put it on here...
hellboy, the TV Standard question...I really have no idea on that, I'm doing the graphic art on this, so all that is up to kotix and others who are helping out...I believe making it HD, Widescreen, 16:9 or whatever, is all XML right? So what you see right now, is probably what you get im figuring...correct me if im wrong kotix...
As far as editing this skin a bit more, I'll be doing it today when I have free time, So there will be an update with screenshots tonight...but nothing fancy, you'll basically see the icons without the logos, the same chrome keyboard design, and a new weather icon...

The resolution part is not all an xml matter, let say that XBMC can make the conversion from PAL to NTSC and NTSC to PAL automatically, just 1 or 2 xml need to be adjusted.
The problem come when we want to make the widescreen version starting from the 4/3 (normal) resolution; 4/3 and widescreen have both the same resolution
(in PAL is 720x576) but widescreen have wider pixels so if you make a square image 100x100 it will not look square in 16/9, we need to make a skinner rectangle instead of a square that will look square in widescreen.
Problems comes more if circles or squares are used for backgrounds.
If you wanna try it out copy and paste all the files of the PAL directory in the PAL16x9 dir and see what happen to your skin when it's in widescreen.
I hope my english can explain it enought.

Hey nineT9, I don't think you need to buy an xml book to understand the xbmc skinning, I never learned xml or html at all and i beleive xml programming is alot of more complicated then waht we are using in XBMC.
In XBMC is just a matter of positions and sizes and the tags used are very selfexplainatory, the first thing to understand them is to look in the reference.xml:
in this file are listed all the controls that xbmc can use and the right way to use them.
Every control can then be used in all the other xml files and you can change all the parameters specified in the tags <..>.....</..>; if you don't change any parameter XBMC will use the ones specified in the reference.xml.
Most important in some controls are the <id> used in a certain windows, in the home for example the images with id from 102 to 109 are associated to the myprogs, mymusic, myvideos etc.. buttons.
In your skin i dind't change many things form the Project Mayhem skin, just some position and size.
If you need more explanations just let me know, we are here to contribute in some way to XBMC and more people learn skin it, better it will become.

If you look at all your other icons they show the playback device (headphones, xbox etc) so it makes sense that your video should show either a video icon or a dvd icon not a camera, and the pictures one should show a picture or a roll of film, something like that, this way it should be much clearer whats going on.
ps love the second keyboard from your new shots, the colors give it a really unified tidy feel.

as far as when this will be finished guys? Well this is my last update really, I'll be sending these new graphics to saldous's webpage, after that, its all up to those XML guys... I'm excited to see this on my box!

I know its meant to be a camcorder but the fact is it isnt really clear, I think a widescreen tv or maybe a plasma screen would make more sense.

guzzler, thanks for the help in letting ppl know what needs to be done. I've been absent ALL week/last week, havn't even checked email, nor been online! I've been inCREDIBLY busy (no really, one time i didn't even eat the entire day, seriously...) I was hoping for some nice fresh updates, but unfortunetly others are busy too, so i understand.
gunza, thanks for the news about the broken skins...not sure what exactly it means (im a newb in that field)...hopefully it won't effect this skin!
Well, I'm not that busy anymore, I'll be checking here nightly, i just got a pocketpc, think i might get some ebooks on xml to read on my ppc in my spare time! I'm actually thinking of making a skin for my pocketPC (but thats not for a loooong time, heh...)
anyway, take care guys, great to see people still care! Let's get this DONE!!! I'm dying to see this scheme on my xbox...i wanna show everyone, hopefully someone out there knows xml AND has time...

I just can't wait.
I think the keyboard is awesome and i really love the "colors". Don't make it too colorfull..
i like the 2nd iconset better... i hate too much text on a small TV screen :/

phaelox : WOW Man, thanks A LOT of your input, I'd have to agree with everything you said, I'll switch the sequence from left>right, to up>down, to avoid overlapping. The keyboard, I agree with you on the "cleaner" look, I did the keyboard in somewhat of a rush just to get it out there, so I'll work on this and get that fixed...I also would go with icon choice #2 too! I'll fix up that "xbmc files", thanks for the help again, great you replied and let me know about your thoughts

explicitylyrics : So far the format is what is in the screenshot (I'm not sure what the res. is on widescreen / hidef), but what you see is what you'll get, after the skin is complete, hopefully kotix and I can provide high resolutions, more colors for ppl, etc...
Well, thats it for now, I have to work on some things here at the house, afterwhich I will work on the skin, so I will defintly have a update with screenshots tonight

I see a majority wanted icon choice #2 (from my previous reply), so I just changed it a tad, what do you think of the it? Some were confused about telling the dfference between a camera and a camcorder, so I put into the DVD logo into the camcorder...as well as the Compact Disc Digital Audio logo for music...also made the MY FILES button picture a tad bigger, took away "XBMC Files" and just put "Files" and made the txt a little larger...
Well let's hear your input, let me know what you like/dislike about it...
I'll work on the graphics again on wednesday if needed...until then, would apreciate some comments

I would suggest scratching that one and creating a new one.. Personally I don't like "The Weather Channel" icon either and the graphic behind it isn't very clear as to the meaning of the button. I have a picture of what I think would look good in my head, wish I had the skills to get it out there and show you, heheh.. What I was thinking, use a graphic that makes it unmistakebly clear it's the Weather button, so you don't need the Weather Chan box or any extra text: a cloud.. a nice big gray silvery cloud, possibly with some drops falling from it (a few small drops or two or three big drops), or a lightning bolt, y'know what I mean? I'll see if I can find anything that illustrates what I mean.Again, excellent work on the keyboard. Hope you go with #1

I have to agree to phaleox. Since the XBMC is not limited to Kodak picture nor native Compact Disk Audio media, the 99 skin shouldn't suggest so either. Not to mention that a brand name shouldn't be used on a graphic of an open source project (except the 'XBOX' name, of course).
According to the keyboard, #1 (the chromish one) is more stylish and looks really outstanding. I hope you decide for it.
Besides the above:
There were several requests about the TV standard the skin gets adapted to.
My comment on this: It would be really nice if you would test the skin on a widescreen TV (I'm personally using a 16:9 PAL TV) before you realease it.
Keep up the excellent work, thanks from all of us who read this thread since it started. We all can't wait to see it coming alive as "release" version.

It is a different color (just so you know), I tweaked the color scheme of it to make it fit my design idea...but here is the thing, its on my old computer, so I'll have to bring out my ol pc and save it to a disk then put it on here...
hellboy, the TV Standard question...I really have no idea on that, I'm doing the graphic art on this, so all that is up to kotix and others who are helping out...I believe making it HD, Widescreen, 16:9 or whatever, is all XML right? So what you see right now, is probably what you get im figuring...correct me if im wrong kotix...
As far as editing this skin a bit more, I'll be doing it today when I have free time, So there will be an update with screenshots tonight...but nothing fancy, you'll basically see the icons without the logos, the same chrome keyboard design, and a new weather icon...
Thanks again for the support, It's amazing to see there is still new ppl replying to this, and that some ppl have been reading this since day1! We're getting near the completion of this! I'll update tonight!

The problem come when we want to make the widescreen version starting from the 4/3 (normal) resolution; 4/3 and widescreen have both the same resolution
(in PAL is 720x576) but widescreen have wider pixels so if you make a square image 100x100 it will not look square in 16/9, we need to make a skinner rectangle instead of a square that will look square in widescreen.
Problems comes more if circles or squares are used for backgrounds.
If you wanna try it out copy and paste all the files of the PAL directory in the PAL16x9 dir and see what happen to your skin when it's in widescreen.
I hope my english can explain it enought.

@kotix : i understand what your saying, ill try testing this out on my xbox to SEE what your saying, i just wasn't sure how that all worked with the differ res's and all...good to know now... i think im gonna buy some ebooks to put on my ipaq to learn about XML, so hopefully in a few months, I can make my own! i THINK im going to get ebooks, not positive yet, hehe...

In XBMC is just a matter of positions and sizes and the tags used are very selfexplainatory, the first thing to understand them is to look in the reference.xml:
in this file are listed all the controls that xbmc can use and the right way to use them.
Every control can then be used in all the other xml files and you can change all the parameters specified in the tags <..>.....</..>; if you don't change any parameter XBMC will use the ones specified in the reference.xml.
Most important in some controls are the <id> used in a certain windows, in the home for example the images with id from 102 to 109 are associated to the myprogs, mymusic, myvideos etc.. buttons.
In your skin i dind't change many things form the Project Mayhem skin, just some position and size.
If you need more explanations just let me know, we are here to contribute in some way to XBMC and more people learn skin it, better it will become.
