I have a 40GB PS3 and Im having a problem with Madden 08 and 2 demos I downloaded
Everytime there is a loud moment in the game, my speakers will crack
This happens in Madden during hits, some big catches, some announcer comments
Happens in GT5HD Demo and Need For Speed Demo during big crashes
It only happens when I have an HDMI Cable connected and Ive tried 2 different ones in all 3 of my ports
When I connect Composite it doesnt happen
Ive tried to lower the volume in-game, and it semi-works, but I feel thats something I shouldnt have to do
Anyone know if this is a known issue with the PS3?
PS, this doesnt happen with my DVR connected with HDMI or with watching Blu-Ray movies on the PS3...
Anyone know whats up?

I wish I could help you out better than this but have you tried to make sure that you are outputting on the correct KHz?
HDMI has many options for audio frequency and if your receiver doesn't support it you may damage your equipment.
Common ones are 44.1khz, 48khz, 88.2khz, 96khz, etc...
I would check your equipment for the supported ones and try them otherwise you could try optical audio connection.
I have a 60gb and use optical audio with 48khz on my Sony STR-DE685 receiver. I have the GTHD and GT5 Prologue demo with no crackling issues on any game.
You may also want to check if it is bitstream or PCM under blu-ray/game settings.
