Title: Bricked 47d
Post by: helgebelt on November 07, 2007, 04:05:00 AM
Hi, I have a friend that managed to brick his hitachi 47D, and i wonder now if there is any possibility to fix it without replacing the drive?
And if  he now needs to replace the drive, can I buy any drive at all and spoof it as a hitachi 47D?

Thanks for all help!

did he manage to dump the key?
If so you can go to someone with an external programmer and flash a chip, solder it back and use the drive again.

if he didn;t get the key, you're screwed in all ways and he created a nice doorstop

yeah, good point forgot about that one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

so if not, go to someone with an external reader/writer (or buy one yourself)

I don't know anyone with a external programmer :-(

Anyway, so you need the key from the drive to replace it?

How much does a external programmer cost and where can you buy it?

Cheers!
