I have a banned box that's not exploitable but I'm waiting to see if anything will come out that will allow me to use my banned and currently unmoddable console.

Any of you smart folk know if that will ever happen or should I give up and find an older box?

At this point, I think I want to wait until there are more advancements that make it a little bit easier.  Right now all the apps that will be coming out are just getting started so I think I want to wait until the better stuff comes out.

I am extremely excited to see what is going to happen with the homebrew scene. I can't express my thanks enough to those awesome folks who are doing all this hacking.  I would no doubt give $50 to the first person to make Xlink Kai and xbox 360 a functioning reality.  What is the technical-blockage keeping ping limits so low? How hard is it to un-do.

I have a Jasper 256 mb modded with iXtreme 1.6, never been on Live, but I've already played 4th Wave games, so i guess my dash is already up to date sad.gif  Was really looking forward to playing Castle Crashers sad.gif

I can't afford to buy another system sad.gif  Hope these guys can hack the latest 8xxx ones and enable us to play these awesome games smile.gif

I'm willing to buy an already exploited one. I mean, I can mod the firmware easily, I'm not a newb, but the amount of effort required to make the JTAG hack work is just too challenging. So many things can go wrong, you have to solder parts and keep your fingers crossed that the kernel isn't patched already.

Let's hope an easier method comes about. Or the dream where you can pop in a USB stick and it exploits the console  rolleyes.gif

plenty of exploitable consoles left.. bought a brand new Arcade Falcon 360 from 2008-08 a week ago (that'd mean in 2010-4 you'd still be able to get exploitable consoles)
just look for old stock. not that hard to find.

To my suprise the repaired xbox I got back from microsoft today is both exploitable and has an easily flashable drive, so I plan on homebrew enabling mine when things gets a bit easier to pull off.

im just waiting for a killer app. Yes running unsigned code is cool and halo modding and free dlc is even cooler, they just dont have that Umph like xbmc did. (not bashing on anyone).

Better yet, an exploitable 8955 db! (I know, gonna get flamed!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/muhaha.gif) )

"My 360 is not exploitable anymore and don't plan to buy a new one"

I wouldn't buy one premodded, as with these sorts of things i'd want to do it myself so I feel that i've actually achieved something.

Got a falcon and a xenon, both modded by myself.

My homeplug networking broke late june, so my falcon was nowhere near xbox live when the new updates rolled.

Bought a pro xenon for £55 and modded that as a spare to fiddle with. That didnt even have NXE on it (thanks cash converters :-) )

Just really need to whip the motherboards out again to get those R6T3's removed just in case.

I install preview update on xbox 2 days before this site alerted me and had an recent 08-2008 xbox being ship. :|

Big let down. I hope somebody found a hack on the recently new xbox's...if not then I guess I sell my modded benq arcade falcon or trade.

I'd had my old Xenon JTAG hacked for a while but it decided to finally crap out as soon as XBReboot was released. So I went and bought a brand new 60gb Pro just for homebrew  biggrin.gif . Well worth it IMO. I'm looking forward to seeing what interesting homebrew starts to appear on the 360, and already having fun with what's been released so far.

Why no option for "I own an exploitable console but have no clue how to perform the exploit"?

I guess I better get reading up on how I do this to my exploitable consoles (one at least, maybe two if the Wave 3 update is a safe update)

Hacking Arcade games that should be paid for sounds illegal to me.

Just saying. (mods will need to monitor this thread)

I want to do this but my banned 360 was updated to summer 09 and I already bought a second 360 for XBL. So it looks like I need to wait for a new hack sad.gif.

The moment a new hack is available I will do it as long as its relatively easily possible.

I picked up a 2008 holiday bundle from newegg for 200 bones.  mfg date s feb 08.  It has a 256 meg nand.  I am on the fence about doing the nand on that system though.  I found an older system that I think is expoitable..it was one I did an rrod fix on a while ago, just waiting for my usb cable from grim to see if that cb is correct.  If it is then I will probably use the bundle on live and nand the older box.  Of course I also have a brand new xbox 360 that is banned which I will be uncrippling soon.

You forgot to add the option:

"Yes I have several exploitable consoles but I haven't gotten around to doing it because they're RROD and failed all regular fixes short of a complete reflow and I haven't had time to purchase a reflow oven; I'm also too lazy to build a usb spi of my own so I ordered one from someone on the bst forum"

Put me down in that category.

That's a kick on the nuts.... you should give it another try!

My first console was very very hardmoded (VGA, Component, composite, and all posibble A/V outs in the back, plenty of cooling, then I sold it and went Rrod in less than 2 weeks, returned to me...

I saw the fixes for rrod, and started buying used consoles with red lights for Christmas, two years latter, ended up with like 20 consoles in rrod, and fixed every single console.

Now I done a xbr into the first one, and these days will try freeboot.

It's great to see a full game in the hard drive without risking it, no more disk scratching to my disk, and much more luck for my nephews, just waiting till it gets much more stable to give it to them.

I got a xbox live arcade jasper like a month and a half ago. can i use freeboot or xbereboot (im use xbox live so i probably have the newest dash) ? Do both of these mthods require soldering? I dont care too much about storing full games (way too much space) but I am interested in future emulators that would benefit/couldnt exist without the extra power of the 360 processor.

To answer all 3 of your questions... No, No, and Yes...

Next time read... it's been repeated more than enough times that the jtag exploit was fixed in summer 09.

You'll also be soldering no matter what if you want xbreboot or freeboot running.

Cmon guys - this requires less soldering than an old xbox 1 chip - really not complicated smile.gif  Now... the PS2 chips... those were nasty smile.gif

Modded my launch day 360 yesterday, tried out xexloader and will hopefully give mame360 a go sometime this week.

Awesome!

yes, also the 256/512mb nand are now possible.

xbreboot is just not stable enough at the moment.

I read freeboot is better but cygnos chip dont support big nand sad.gif
