Title: Strange Problem
Post by: _InFeRnO_ on February 25, 2006, 04:19:00 AM
Alright i got a v1.6 console with a duox2 chip installed and decided i wanted to put a xenium ice chip in it. I added the two additional pins onto the pin headed that the xenium require but for some reason i almost always get a constant frag. Sometimes it will work and other times it will not. I plugged in the additional wire loom, the one with the d0 and the optional ground, and figured out that if i solder the ground wire to the d0 spot on the chip it works just fine. My question is will this mess anything up or is the chip needing additional grounding? I tried to solder the ground onto a screw hole but it continued to frag, so i just resoldered it back onto the d0 point. Any help appreciated. TIA!

It could be that you have bad LPC connections or that the D0 is not getting good contact.  Try those both.  Also, since you have a v1.6 make sure you have done the LPC rebuild correctly.
