Ok I guess I'm the first one to go down by accessing Xbox live with my chip turned off.... |

he is not the only one with this problem. I got the same prob. Last Thursday I was trying to get online with the modchip deffintely turned off and I was banned aswell. I am using a apple3x modchip and do not have any hacked files on my harddisk. I heared some rumors that MS scans your harddisk and then check it to see if there is anything different about it. Myh problem is solved my buying a new xbox so I do not have to worry again. But there must be more players who have this problem. Maybe MS is starting a big investigation!!!! |

The point is that they all had evox installed on their hard drive...that's sufficient evidence of modding. Anyway, I'm wondering if a non-live game can detect that it's being played with a backup (i.e., the modchip is on) and then report in the next time you DO connect on live. Crazy idea, but why not? |

I don't understand how people are getting banned when they never accessed LIVE with modchip ON... |

Too much of this: I have been using my modded Xbox with this current EEPROM since December. Haven't been banned yet, and I am careful. |

LOL well, all I know is, my network cable is NOT plugged in...if I want to go LIVE, I'll plug it in and make sure my modchip is off. |

Yes, MS is very helpful on the phone, even when I had a controller problem |
