If you want you premodd done and returned ASAP, CSM is the place to go. I sent mines out to CSM on a friday and it was sent back to me on Wednesday up and running. I just sent another Xbox out to CSM for the works 120 HD, Cleared Jewel and Leds. Trust me this place is the truth. I dealt with one other site online and they stiffed me with a bad install so i sent it to CSM, he fixed it changed the 2.3 Lite chip and set me up good and the best part is i wasn't over charged like i was from the other site.

I definitely agree that CSM is FAST!

I just purchased a premodded system from them and their prices are far lower than the competition, plus their work is of the absolute best quality! I received my xbox within a week of ordering and it works great.

CSM has been a very helpful and available to answer all of my questions. If anyone is looking to get any work done on their xbox, or to purchase a premodded system, I would highly recommend Carolina System Mods!

This guy is great.  If you want a premodded system with no hassle and in great time this is the guy to go to.  He is quick and helps you out if you have any problems.  Also he is very easy to get a hold of.  He gave me his cell phone number and helped me out when he didnt even have to.  I was worried that buying a pre-modded system was risky but with John there are no worries.  I recomond him to anyone who wants to have a system today and not worry about anything else.

Just got off the phone with CSM, over the weekend South Carolina had a huge ice storm and knocked out power in his town, wanted to let everyone know who is waiting on a Premodded it will be send anyday now when his power is restored. As you know you can't complete a modd without power.

I will use this for all of my needs.  As soon as he recieved payment for my purchase he sent me everything the next day.  I constantly talk to CSM for help, instead of reading tutorials I ask every little stupid question there is and he gives me the answer for EVERYTHING.  CSM is the most reliable companies ever.  I got LEDs put into the controller ports and the eject button done.  I can't believe at what a great service CSM has.  I tried to contact 8 sties before I bought my xbox and not only was CSM the only one to respond within an hour (i sent this msg around 1pm to everyone), but I was given tons of filled answers.  Great Service, Great Price, goto this place for all of your needs.

Just got X2.3B Lite installed and HDD. He told me everything i wanted to know and was very helpful. Kept me updated though there wasnt much need b/c he was FAST. I sent him xbox on monday, he got it on wednesday. He then modded the xbox on wednesday and shipped it back thursday. I got the xbox today (friday) at 4. THAT IS AWESOME. I highly highly recommend Carolina System Mods to anyone who is looking for help with modding xbox. Work was very professional and better than i could have ever done. I emailed him question and he even called me and left me voicemail with all the info I needed. Great to work with! Once again thanks for all the great work.

Also i found out that since he was out of the X2.3B Lite's at the time he installed a X2.3B Pro instead for free.  That is customer satisfaction!   I have had the modded xbox for 3 days now and it works great and i love it!

I just got my xbox back from CSM. It took only a couple days, and he installed a 200gig HD, new samsung dvd, 2.3pro chip, plus all the software was installed and working. All switches and ports are firmly and professionally installed and it works exactly as it should. I highly recomend using CSM, they are very prompt, and profesional. I bought an xbox with a Xenium chip (which I highly recommend) and a 80 GB HD. It was ready in 3 days from the time I ordered it. It works well with no problems and the applications preinstalled were very nicely chosen. Emails kept me up to date on the progress which is a nice touch.
Thank you.

My experience with Carolina Mod Services has been excellent.  I received my premod, and it looks like it came fresh from the store.  Customer service is some of the best I've dealt with.   The response time to emails was very quick.  John was incredibly helpful in getting me up and running, and in answering my questions.  The only knock was that the turnaround time was a little longer than expected.  However, i did buy it right after the price drop and was informed that their load was unusually heavy and they got backed up with orders, and are usually much quicker.  No biggie.  Overall, I have no complaints and would recommend them.

Order #83: Version 1.4 Xbox with Xenium Mod Chip, Samsung DVD Drive, and a 160gb hard drive pre-modded order from a factory fresh Xbox.

CMS installed Xenium OS 1.1 on the chip for me. Email Communication was excellent, turnaround time was a bit long but they informed me that they were backed up with custom orders at the time and apologized for the delay in shipping.

The Xbox was packed professionally for shipping and I am extremely pleased with the job CMS has done. Everything is working flawlessly. Thanks CMS!

I spent a few days online searching for a site that offered pre-modded xbox's. I kept coming up with sites that only shipped within the UK, but after coming to the scene directed by a friend who had a modded xbox himself I came upon his site. I was astonished by the low price compared to most of the other sites had offered. They were quick to answer my emails, sometimes within the very hour I had sent the email out, answering all my questions and erasing my doubts wether they were reliable or not. The many other great reviews about them made my desicion to purchase from them permanent.

Ordering went smooth and I recieved my xbox happily this very day with all the help I could get from the carolina owner. I couldnt be happier. It is in great condition. I will surely refer all my friends to him. Thank you!

After searching for nearly a month for the “perfect” place to purchase a pre-modded system, I lowered the number of possibilities down to one.  CMS by far had the best reviews, the most customizable options, and on top of all of that the lowest prices.

Do yourself a favor and simply take the time to compare the reviews, compare the options, and most importantly compare the prices.  After doing the research you should have the confidence of knowing CMS is the absolute best on all three.

I have now had my system for over a month with heavy usage and have had absolutely no problems.  When I first received my system I naturally had a few questions which were quickly (the same day) answered fully.

This has been by far my best experience with online shopping of any sort (books, clothes, electronics, etc.), and that’s saying a lot.  I’ve never experienced a company that delivers a solid product in a timely manner and then goes above and beyond all that with superior support like CMS.

If you see the low prices and think that quality is sacrificed, simply put, DON’T.  Like I said before, do yourself a favor and take the time to make the necessary comparisons.  If it comes down to purchasing from CMS, all I can tell you is go for it – you will not regret it.

Ordered a Xenium premod with the Custom Special LED mod.  CMS really does a great job and has the best prices that I could find.  My Xbox truly is a thing of beauty thanks to this great webshop.  There was a problem with shipping, but that was mostly due to USPS.  While I was waiting for my Xbox to arrive, John patiently provided great customer support.  I believe that the true test of any shop is the ability to serve its customers even when problems arise.  This is where CMS excels.  I never once felt that I wasn't being taken care of.  Great job all around!

Order Number: ?

I thought I would drop a great thumbs up to ** NO THANKS.. SPAM THIS SHIT ELSEWHERE **.  I tried to soft mod my second xbox but it just wasnt stable enough so I decided to send it in to get a chip put into it.  When I sent in the box it wasnt exactly in good working order but much to my enjoyment when I got it back it worked perfectly.  The turnaround time was very quick as well.  I think it took about 2 weeks including the time it took me to send it in and get it back.  One thing I forgot to do when I sent in my xbox was to take out a game.  I totally forgot about it for about 3 months because it was from gamefly but when I remembered I sent an email to John and less than a week later they sent the game back to me no questions asked.  All in all it was great doing business with ** NO THANKS.. SPAM THIS SHIT ELSEWHERE ** and I look forward to sending them some more business from my area.  Keep up the great work John.

Not only that i had (and still have) questions reguarding the basics of working with a modded xbox and John replies to my emails in a matter of minutes with answers. Great business man, highly recommend him.

smile.gif  MY ORDER # IS 327 AND I JUST PURCHASED A PREMODDED XBOX.  I DID SOME EXTENSIVE REASEARCH BEFORE I BOUGHT MY SYSTEM FROM CMS.  BESIDES THE GREAT PRICE I FOUND THAT JOHN RESPONDS TO E-MAILS FAIRLY QUICKLY, WITHIN MINUTES IF NOT HOURS.  HE ANSWERED ALL MY PRESSING QUESTIONS THAT HELPED ME MAKE MY DECISION; FROM SHIPPING TO PRODUCT INFO.  THE REVIEWS AND FEEDBACK THAT CMS GOT ALSO HELPED IN MY DECISION.  CMS DOES NOT HAVE A LOT OF CHOICES IN CHIPS, BUT THEY HAVE THE LATEST AND GREATEST ONES LIKE THE NEW XENIUM-ICE CHIP AND THEY ALSO HAVE COSMETIC MODS WITH THE LEDS.  CMS SAYS THEY CAN GET WHAT YOU WANT THAT IS NOT LISTED ON THEIR SITE, BUT I'D  STICK WITH THEIR RECCOMMENDED CHIP OF CHOICE. ALTHOUGH I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY PREMODDED XBOX, I BELIEVE CMS IS THE BEST SITE FOR U.S. GAMERS FOR A PREMODDED XBOX.  THE CUSTOMER SERVICE & SUPPORT BEFORE THE SALE WAS GREAT AND FROM WHAT I'VE READ, IT WILL CONTINUE AFTER THE SALE AS WELL.

Order #330.

I've been crytical but because of all the feedback, I ordered my unit on 8/18 and from what everyone else says, I'm pretty confident that my system will be sweet and I promise a review when it comes in.  Also, your forums are down.  I hope everything's ok and you didn't lose a hard drive or a computer.  I dono where you are (N. or S. Carolina???) but we had some real hellacious storms that night.  I myself lost a router.  It sucked.  Anyhow, looking forward to the box and doubt it'll be the last one.  (lol I've owned 4.  (1) unmodded (2) enigmah modded (3)  X2 Modded, (4) Matrix modded which became a Phoenix modded which got annoying and subsequentely got sold.

Order #301.  Ordered about a week before july 31st, and haven't received a single update.  I tried emailing him, but I haven't gotten any email back.  This right now is making my parents trust the internet even less than they already do, and making me look terrible because this is a gift for my little brother(whose bday was the 31st, but I didn't expect it by then).

Order 330

Another modder goes south?  I find myself taken back to the old days, nearly 2 years to the date:

http://forums.xbox-s...wtopic=3390&hl=

I ordered on the 18th of August and on the website, it said 7-10 business days to order completion.  I saw on his forums a few days after the order that people were starting to complaine that their orders weren't filled and a month or more has passed.  Right around this time, he took his forums down.  How convenient!  I still waited longer.  Today is the 10th business day and I demanded a responce with the status report of my xbox or I was going to paypal.

He did send a form letter out a few days ago saying that there's been some delays due to the fact that he's swamped and he's "changing his shipping around".  That may have been acceptable but a few days ago, I asked him what kinda hard drive he was putting in the modded xbox and he mentioned a western digital 7200 rpm / 2mb cache drive.  He answered that one pretty quick so he's there and he's responsive to miscelanious questions.  BUT when I told him I didn't want the hard drive in that case and to please paypal me $115 back for it, he said he would, never did, then went AWOL.

Awol crap does not cut it for me for any reason.  So, I sent him an e-mail demanding my hard drive money and a status on where my xbox was and that if I didn't get it within 48 hours, I was contacting my credit card provider and paypal and getting the charges reversed.

Let me take this opportunity to talk to all modders who may be reading this.  Since I've been through this twice now (see my above link) it is logical to say there's a pattern here that you as a modder goes through:

(1)  You bust your butt to get your name out.  You mean well and you want the people in the scene to know it.  You want them to come to YOU.  Youw ant to make money by shipping a high quality product then that's what you do.
(2)  The good word travels just like you wanted.  So you get swamped.  You can't find the chips or the time.
(3)  You get bitter, you stop responding to e-mails, you probably get yelled at by paypal or your merchant account provider about chargebacks.  You deduct that customers are impatient and annoying and you stop doing it or worse, you go out and get another website and start over.

There's a solution guys and it is NOT ignoring e-mails.  That just gets people like me to get my money extracted from your account.  The solution is to be very active in telling us where our xboxes are.  Tell us why they're not here - that that chip order hasn't come.  Let us see a queue on your website.  This way, we can see that you are filling orders and we can see ourself advancing in line.  More importantely, we can see up front before we order how big a line we have to wait in.  It may cost you a sale if we feel your line is too big vs the time it's taking but you will have either no complaints or complaints that are very invalid and ignored by the bulk of the community.

If there's a modder out there like this, I would love to hear from you.  I realize this market is grey but there is a limit to how grey it should be.I'm just so annoyed with doing my homework, trying to find the right modder for me, seeing the good feedback and quick shipping times and then going to this modder who decides to go south just when I order and start to see forums that go from excellent to sour in their reports like this one has done.  Shame on you, ** NO THANKS.. SPAM THIS SHIT ELSEWHERE **.  It's time to stop appollojising and start making things right like an honorable business person!

I have to respond to set the record straight here.  CMS has done everything we can to update customers and let them know the status of their order.  WE ARE BEHIND!  YES!  We have made no secret of this.  Some emails have been answered slowly and some orders have taken WAY to long to ship.  We have not gone anywhere nor have we not done anything we were supposed to.

All issues have been taken care of or are being taken care of.

As for the problem with enigmatl's order, it has been resolved.
fmgz has also received their Xbox, but I haven't heard anything from them regarding the matter.

I would just like to assure everyone that has orders placed with CMS that they are shipping and business is being taken care of.  We have been slow lately and there is no excuse except we got too big too fast.    We were not prepared for the order volume we received and greatly underestimated the manpower we needed to take care of that volume.

Thanks,
lan122

Order 330

Though CMS has been behind on orders, it would appear they are filling them.  I am next on the list of those who have had their orders filled

SHIPPING
Xbox was shipped via DHL (www.dhl-usa.com) They are cheap yet reliable and I might even use em for my ebaying in the future.  Package itself was wrapped in thick brown paper inside the xbox's own retail box.  I've had em come to me inside a bigger box with foam peanuts but that's not needed since the xbox's retail box has styrofome in it anyhow.  Shipping time was 2 days from pickup but for this, keep in mind, I am closer to CMS than many of you reading this may be.  I'm about 4 states away.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX
Everything advertised.  The box as ordered with all paperwork and the xbox itself is just about as though the plastic that they put on it was never taken off so the box could be worked on, yet it was obviously.  (Good job.)

HOW IT WORKED
Powered up, ran great, and continues to do that.  No issues, no lockups, no random times where the box decides not to boot ince in a while like I've seen on other mod jobs.

HARDWARE
Since I did purchase a Samsung 616T, and a retail version WD drive, after playing for a few hours, I took this opportunity to open up the xbox to put the new drive in.  While there, I took a look at the mod job.  Looks seriously stable.  Put in the new DVD ROM and Hard Drive and after getting the hard drive running, all was still well.

WOULD I ORDER AGAIN
In a heartbeat.  I was sceptical last time because with forums going down shortly after I ordered, I thought I was seeing what I saw 2 years ago from another modder that had no intention of filling my order.  Not this time.  I got my box and it works great.  Thank you, CMS.

BOTTOM LINE
Wheather it takes 2 weeks or 2 months, hang in there.  It is my belief that you won't get screwed over from CMS but instead, you will get what you order and it will be shipped and prepared very well.

The unit works flawlessly, and I have received assistance on matters by e-mail from CMS since that time.  I am very pleased with the unit (ver 1.6 xbox, Xenium Ice).  My overall experience has been good;  the wait allowed me to dedicate my time to other things ... smile.gif

I am appreciative of the job that was done, but will not ever ship a package by USPS if it needs to get there on a timely basis...

Order 335 (now canceled).

I ordered a $500 modded box based on the excellent feedback on these forums.  Unfortunately, my experience has been much more negative.

Placed my order towards the end of August (26th/27th).  Realizing CMS had something of a backorder, I emailed them prior to ordering to ask an ETA if I ordered a pre-mod box - I was told 5-10 days.  So I ordered and waited patiently.  about  13-14 days out from the order date, I send an email to them, asking for a status on my order.   I received a cryptic response back about how the order was "processing" (which I knew because it had been "processing" since the day after my order, when they charged my credit card).  Obviously, I wanted a more specific time period and asked them for one.  I recieved an email back that they were on order 308 (and I was 335).  I sent them back an email, trying to determine how many orders they fill per day, so I could get some idea about how long I'd be waiting.  No response to that email.

I went ahead and canceled my order using instructions on their website.  I recieved no acknowledgement that my order was canceled.  My order remained "processing".  I was also concerned because their website  states that they charge a 15% fee if the order is canceled once "processing" has begun and clearly, I didn't think I should be charged that fee, considering work on the box had not even started.   When I recieved no follow-up email to the cancelation, I sent an email to their sales folks, giving them 3 days to confirm my cancelation or I'd have to go report it to my bank for a chargeback and leave negative feedback.  I got no response.  So on Friday of last week I walked my unhappy butt down to my bank and spent half hour filling out a charge-back affidavit and then sent CMS an email notifying them I had done so.  On Saturday (could have been very late  Friday), I finally received confirmation that the order had been canceled.  To date, they still have not done a chargeback to my CC but I do understand that might take a bit of time.  However, I will report if the chargeback doesnt happen timely.

I realize that some delays will occur.  I also realize that the folks that do these modding are usually small operations and can't handle alot of volume.  However, if you can't handle the volume, you should do one of two things- stop taking orders or be prepared to offer the customer who's product/service was delayed  a discount or a bonus or something for being patient with you.  CMS might have kept my order if they had done any of the above- instead, I got to the point where I just didn't trust them and over the internet, trust matters (you guys know how easy it is to get screwed online).  There's a certain level of reliability I want in the companies I do business.  I'm assuming they will be more reliable once they get their orders straightened out.

It should be noted that I went with another mod shop on this site, who built and shipped a box for me (as they promised) within 3 business days plus included some extras without charge.  I'll be posting a review for those folks once I have the new box.

I'm order #331 and thought since order 330 received his around September 5th,  I thought mine would be next and would have been here by now.  I was wrong.  They stated they were having email problems and if you had sent an email and not received a response to re-email.  I did and still no response.

CMS has a good reputation with previous buyers on this forum.  I'm just frustrated that the order numbers do not mean much.

However, I have not recieved the package within 16 days of the shipping date.  No notification from the post office and only a tracking number that says awaiting delivery by the seller.  However, he did e-mail regarding the status of the producat and said that he would check on its status himself in a couple days.   But the email address at carolinamocservices.com no longer works because of an e-mail server change.  How am I supposed to get in contact with him  now?  Because I ordered this product for a friend, I may be forced to reimburse him myself.  He is under the belief that he is ripped off and frankly, I believe the same thing.  I can understand high volume orders, but for this long of a period of time?

This is what John wrote to me and my replys:

The status will remain as such until the item is delivered.   The packags are usually not scanned until delivered.  We have seen this many times in the past and it is normal for the status to remain unchanged until item is delivered.   However, it is taking an unusual amount of time for this item to be delivered.  If it is not received in the nex few days, please notify us so we can file a claim with USPS.

Thank you,
CMS

Still Have not got my xbox from this place after mine and others posted about it taking way to long I Wrote them Asking For them to ship it that week or give me my money back.  They Said It will Ship on Saturday. On 9-4 I was e-mailed saying it shipped. So I waited and waited and still today 9-21 i still have not got any shipment from them.(and as anyone who has stuff shipped Priority Mail it normaly takes 2-3 business days to get it)  When i use the tracking number on usps.com this is all it says:

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on September 04, 2004 to expect your package for mailing. No further information is available for this item

All that means as they were just notified about the package. It does Not even Say they got the package or that it is in transit.  I Have E-mailed the past 2 days have got no reply so i have no choice but to leave this review i will update if somthing changes but as it stands now. Order #341
I also am a repeat customer with this shop. My prior experiences with this company have been fantastic. Awesome communication, quick turnaround, and quick shipment. I was reccomending this service to all my friends. In fact, I helped two of them get thier boxes modded through this site. At the first of this month, I sent my Xbox in for repairs (this is the third time I personally have used this shop.) I have been disappointed ever since. I have received little to no reposnse to my emails, I have not been kept updated of the status of my Xbox.

I will post back here when and if I receive my Xbox in good repair.

NOTICE: John has contacted me and let me know that he is working on my Box and taking care of getting it fixed. It turns out they were having a problem with thier mail server again. It looks like I spoke to soon and John and CMS are still up to par, just a little slower than before.

Order #297

I placed my order for a premod on July 25, since then it seems I have had nothing but problems with CMS. The first month I decided to wait and not ask any questions due to the fact that they must have been really really busy... I accepted this. But around the month and a week border I sent in a few emails to them asking about where my xbox was in the line etc... in which they replied

"Your order will be shipping this week"
I thought to myself awesome, they are working on it and I will be recieving it very soon, however this was not the case and another week went by so I sent in another email asking the same question to which I got the reply

"Your order is next in line it will be shipping this week no doubt"

Once again they did not come through and it has been two weeks since, i have not written and email as I am figuring out how to cancel my order, I am VERY very dissapointed because they have lied to me not once, but twice and this is not good business at all. I wish they would be truthful with their customers but as it would seem through this post they are not willing to do this.

I am going to be cancelling my order as soon as I figure out how, I cannot seem to find any reference to this on the CMS website so I guess I will be contacting my credit card company... Unless I hear something real soon from CMS, which after 2 months or so doesn't seem like it's going to happen...

ORDER AT YOUR OWN RISK the premod processing at CMS IS NOT 15-20 expect about 60-??? days if your lucky!

order #342

I ordered for my Xbox to be repaired on 9/6/04 and they have yet to ship my order. I got an email from them on 9/17/04 saying that they would ship it in the coming days. It did not ship so on the 20th I emailed them asking for a update on my x-box, they have yet to email me back.

I did buy a premod from them awhile back when they were pretty new but it was the same old service, It took a month till I got my xbox but they did email me back a lot faster.

As a follow-up to my previous post. to the best of my knowledge, my money was never refunded by CMS.  Instead, my bank did a chargeback on my account pending their investigation.

The lack of a chargeback or any email from CMS explaining when the money would be charged back is unacceptable.  I would be VERY wary about ordering from CMS.

As an alternative, check out my review of Modordie.com, who I ordered from once I canceled my order from CMS.

I placed my order on July 27 #299 and as of last week had still not gotten my premod xbox. Communication was poor and I needed to send several emails to get a response. I decided to call my bank and have them do a chargeback to my credit card.

If anyone needs any contact information for CMS I have a phone number and mailing address.

If you are considering ordering from them please ask yourself if it is in any way reasonable to place an order and be quoted 5 - 10 business days and get no product more than a month later, with no apology or attempt to make the situation better.

Hard lessons from rapid growth? Maybe, but with customer service like this I do not think that high order volume will be a problem for long. I really hoped that they would come through in the end, but after more than two months I could not wait any longer.

Feel free to PM me if you need the contact information or if I can amplify any part of my review of CMS.

Well apparently I recieved my package from CMS but it was delivered back to sender because I was unavailable at the time of delivery.  So  order #304 was completed.  Atleast i'm happy i didn't get ripped off but I wish they could have left the package at the apartment office or something, now I have to wait even longer.

i ordered 2 xboxes 2 months ago..back in early august.  of the mulitple times ive emailed i got maybe one reply back about a month ago, saying my order would ship in a week.  im really beginning to think ive been ripped off.

im about to do what ive been reading a few on here have done. go and file a complaint through my bank.

ive been in the mod scene for a minute now, and ordered from plenty of places...but ive never had anything like this.  spend a few hundred  bucks at a shop, and this is how im treated?

could someone at least talk to a customer around here? is that too much to ask? i came on here cause apparently emailing doesnt seem to be enough to get somebody's attention.

Order # 341

I received my Xbox from this company about a week and a half ago. Everything works fine, but the switches for my chip (2.3b Pro) were broken during shipping. John has stated that he does not have the replacement parts. If anyone has an extra set, please contact me.

Everything on the box is working fine. I did have to email CMS several times to receive a response each time I tried to contact them. If they can ever catch up, I believe this will still be a respectable shop.

Just so you know paypal will not refund your money after 30 days so any of you that still are in those 30 days make a CLAIM NOW this guy is a lair and is just saying what you want to here so days will pass untill it is to late just like me.  my order number is 296 i ordered in july i still do not have mine so there is no way in hell he will ever get to any of yours.  He told me mine shipped but all he does is makes a label from usps.com and never ships. He Will Write Back To some e-mails but that is to just to hold you off.  $20 says if you e-mail asking about getting a xbox from him you will get a reply. but if you e-mail asking why your order is not here yet, he just pretends his e-mail dont work.  so all i can say to you people that have ordered in the last 30 days from paypal file a claim NOW before he steals your money too.   I Think the real Shame is from People who sent him their own Xbox And This Loser Doesnt even Send them back, He Keeps that Along with the money he Stole.

Hello Brothers & sisters. Order 276 Updated to 308

I regret I ever ordered from ** NO THANKS.. SPAM THIS SHIT ELSEWHERE **.com. And i never will again.
I shipped my Halo Xbox on July 10th. It was shipped Back to me on Aug. 12th. But was delivered to the wrong house. Witch led to an unbelievable amount of leg work on my part to get sorted out. But Alas the Xbox was never recovered. (All game saves down the Drain) I insured the Xbox when i shipped but John Didn't.

My losses are
175 for Xbox Witch would cost around 300 if i was to go on Ebay to replace the Halo.
75 $ for mod Chip (I ordered with overnight Shipping).
5 $ for ATA 133 Cable
100 $ worth of work from John.
Total loss 355 $ to 555 $

At first John Promised to make the situation right. By replacing the Box. But it's Oct 24. I have no box not even a refund for the hundred I've sent him to do the work. About a month ago he sent me an email saying he was shipping a replacement box. then sent me an email saying he changed his mind. Then Said he would only cut me a check for the amount DHL (shipping company) sends him.

But If he was Really going to do that I would of least got some of the money by now. I'm starting to believe John is a con-artist. Building up a stock pile of Xbox's and only shipping to people who nag. I threatened to press charges. he said he covered his ass on his side so there's nothing i can do. If any one has his number, advice or would like to Mod a box for me. please PM me. Thanks for your time.

P.S. This is the short version of the story. the long version (It was like a novel) wasn't approved for posting cause of the length.

Well too make a long story short, apparently my package was sent back because I was unable to recieve it at that time.  Usps redelivered the package to a B B Rikard who I am assuming is related to John.  His shipping address is 920 Shiloh rd in Saluda, Sc.  Because I am located on a marine base here in South Carolina, I may have to go over to this con artists house who keeps dodging my e-mails.  I am a returning customer and this xbox I bought for a friend is pist because he is going on deployment and is out 320 dollars plus an xbox.   This person is not trustworthy and does not deserve your business.  I ordered the xbox at the end of july and its already the end of October.  Personally, you would think that because he is a running a supposedly legitimate business that him keeping everyones money could be considered an act of thievery.  If you turned in a tv to a repair shop and never got it back, wouldn't the business be held accountable?  Personally, if anyone else wants to, I am willing to throw in on a lawyer to pursue legal action.

my brother and i have filed an investigation through our bank, as well as our friend who posted here too (ConwayEast).  I recommend that everyone else do the same, file a complaint through paypal or your bank.  Im not sure how paypal works, but most likely your bank will give you your money back and then deal with CMS through their investigative department.

seeing that some people on here are still waiting for orders as far back as july, i dont think anyone is going to be getting jack from this guy..so do yourself a favor and file a complaint, seems to be the only way to resolve these problems.

Order 313 and 253.

I sent him a box that turned out to be unmoddable.  He sent it back, and I sent him a different one.  At that point in time, I also added a "Custom LED mod" to the order as well.  I haven't gotten a response from him recently, so I'm feeling rather screwed.  I don't know what kinda shit he's trying to pull, but I don't like it.  About a month ago he said he'd have it in the mail "Hell or high water," but I don't see satan, and my place in MN isn't flooding, so I don't know what's going on.  That was the last I heard from him.  I'm thinking road trip, anyone else?

It's too bad to see a shop that had such good ratings go downhill so quickly.  I placed an order (#295) for a premod with CMS in July after reading a ton of positive feedback here.  I had expected that things would take a few weeks, so I didn't bother them with questions about status and such.  However, the delat turned into a month, and then almost two.  Emails were only sporadically replied to, with claims that thei rmailserver was acting up.  Still, the lack of any sort of status updates from a shop are very disconcerting.  After 2 months, little feedback, and no XBox, I initiated a chargeback with my credit card company, which appears to have been successful.

I then placed an order with BMMods and had a box in a week - a whole different level of customer support there.  So, my advice?  CMS may be good again once they get their act together, but for now, it's a risky thing to do business with them.  The feedback here  shows what you may wind up getting yourself into..

Yes, it appears that  CarolinModServices is down for the count. A friend of mine had ordered an XBox from them a couple of months ago. It took a while for him to get a response from them when his order was not shipped. But he did finally get a response from John, and John did refund all of his money. Be patient and hopefully you will be refunded as well. I hate to see them go down, because I got two XBoxes from John and they are the BOMB. Working great with XBox Live. Xecuter 2.3b Pro, 200 gig HD, and able to switch between Avalaunch and Evox. Great units.   beerchug.gif
