does the orientation of the 360 affect the chance of 3 red lights?
-
they die just the same when they're horizontal.
I still keep mine horizontal just to keep gravity in your favor at least.
in theory it shouldn't matter because the heatsinks are screwed to the metal cage. but I still don't trust using it vertically.
just my 2 cents though.

agreed, I think they die all the same for the most part. But in my mind atleast having it horizontal will keep the weight even on all pressure points of the heatsink when it heats up and and warps the board. Were as theoretically, more weight would be put on the 'lower' part of the heatsink if kept vertically due to gravity. Does that make any sense? it's probably all bogus anyways.

I would figure it would heat up faster since your restricting the airflow from pretty much the only source it has to get air.. but Im no expert for sure.

Maybe not the 3 red lights. But having the console horizontal can improve cooling. This is because when vertically, heat rises from the CPU heatsink onto the GPU heatsink; but when horizontal the heat rises towards the case and then through the duct and then out the back of the console (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

if yours was the fault of shitty mfg then no matter what you do it will die...
