Well that all depends on what you mean by "quality".
I used this controller for the workstation I built that had the RAID 5 setup. It is a true hardware controller instead of a software controller.

Thats a good questions. I have not done allot of research on Mpeg encoder cards. I will try to do that this weekend and get back to you on Monday.
P.S. Just out of curiosity, what is your price limit on this system?
I don't really have a limit financially, but I don't want to buy anything unreasonable for the purpose of this machine.
