1.1 Bad Flash, How To Fix?
« on: November 07, 2003, 06:08:00 AM »

Well a while ago I flashed a 1.1 baord with a 256k bios and got away with it, the box booted fine and worked fine etc. I've got a couple of 1.1's to do today and i've just made my second mistake ever by using the mem card i use for 1.2 and above boards on a 1.1 :(

This time I have not been lucky, I flashed a 256k bios via raincoat and now the xbox powers on then off, then on and off then it goes green/red. According to raincoat the chip was erased ok, then flashed ok with the 256k bios.

I've never had to recover from this before, and i'm having problems trying to locate a fix for this as there seem to be a few views on it.

If I connect a18 and a19 to ground will it boot the first 256k of the bios and allow the box to boot?

Thanks!
