which one would u guys consider to be the better file browser?

btw, would anyone know how to get rid of the R(im assuming it means read only) on files i copy to the HDD? as i have made a master boot disk that i just copy all down to the xboxes, but i cant save new settings cause the ini has that R attribute >:(

Just a thought, why not try them both, and see which one YOU like.  I like xcommander personally, the only feature missing is a move option.  But its not that big of a deal.

i have never tried xcommander... but i think boxplorer is very good... which one do ya's reckon is the most newbie friendly? Its just my brother wants to upgrade his xbox(he only has the original dash) without having to hook it up to a computer.(ive never hooked my box up to a computer either  smile.gif ) can you run xcommander off a disc and is it more newby friendly then boxplorer?

yes u can, i am running a master boot disc of sorts that i use on all the xboxes i mod, it has xbmp, xpad and xcommander on the disc as well as evox, so when i boot it up all i have to do is run xcommander and copy all the files to the hard drive, and im done installing without having to ftp crap(unless there is a new version of an app that isnt on my boot disc)

I've read a few people have had problems deleting stuff in box explorer and not getting the space back. Formating is the only way to recover the space. Xcommander has to be the only choice. Or delete via FTP.
