I downloaded the RC1. Whenever it go to install it says that some files are out of date. So, I click yes to update and the pc restarts. Yet when I start the setup again it starts over with the "you need to update". I went to the xlink site and followed the XP info by doing the UpnP thing and still no luck.

Try uninstalling it, reboot, delete the folder it'll leave behind, then install it again.

EDIT: Oh and you might want to download the new RC1c installer from their site and try again with that.
