I didn't know there was a CAT 6 spec.

CAT 6 = 1Gbit
CAT 5e = 1Gbit
Cat 5 = 100Mbit
etc

Difrence between 5e n 6 that I have notced is that all CAT 6 cables have seperated shielding on all the wires so the whole cable is alot thicker then your usual ETP cable.

Upload:       1,400 KB/Sec
Download:   1,400KB/Sec

FlashFXP
WesternDigital 80Gig 7200 rpm
3ft Cat5e crossover cable

I have to close every folder, and disable Zone Alarm plus Norton just to get these speeds. With them on, I get about 300KB/Sec. Also my PC only has a 500Mhz processor. So I think thats the reason for my sorry speeds.

I also had a problem with my first NIC. It was an onboard NIC (card). I ended up having to go out and buy a new one. Got it on sale at PC Land for under $10
