good to hear from you sakir.   Would you feel like releasing your source somewhere to where other people can pick it up and run with it?

There's really not much to try, it was only a Kungfu Man Vs Kungfu Man demo,
so the only thing you could do was battle them against eachother but lifegauges
didnt work so there wasnt much to do..

dont expect a full mugen where you can add characters and stuff,
it was just kungfuman and you couldnt add anybody else.

for me.. i loved seeing it on my xbox cause it showed me there was some good progress being made,
but for the standard gamer who just wants to "play" with mugen.. i wouldnt bother.

VampX who's still looking forward to a finished OpenMugen someday,
so that he can make his classic crossover game "Fatal Fury 1 Vs Street Fighter 2"

Xmugen is the $hit right now.

i got it working to the point where we might not
need open mugen. but i shouldn't say that
cause i am looking forward to this release
since it's open source. everything seems to work
great with the right setup.

OpenMugen is necessary. It will feature network play.

Yeah no dis to Alg5 (who just made a wonderful port of an old application) but I'm still looking forward to OpenMugen.  Although it will prove to be a challenge to level the playing field, network play would be awesome.  Considering that the mugen (xmugen, winmugen) is nothing more than a hacked beta, it would be nice to have a completely stable engine that others could eventually modify and add new features as time goes by.  Right now if mugen doesn't support what you want to do, too bad, its not gonna happen.  But a new improved opensource engine would allow for infinite possibilities...

after having played xmugen with my friends i am thinking
net play will be a bad idea. evil, mo-02, broli, and other characters are so powerful
that it will really mess up balance. someone can relate to what i am
trying to say but that's my opinion also how will openmugen be more stable than xmugen?
do you mean crashing which has been fixed for xmugen?

it's goingto be a while before openmugen comes for xbox so lets
look at the pros and cons of both.

Net-play could work , but there would have to be a unified way of renaming exsiting characters..
Only then could we (in the infamous words of P-Diddy) play together.

it's really easy to get it to work.

step 1 get all the files.

then make a dir in the root of E:

should look like:

E:mugen (don't rename this folder for anyreason)

once you have this made put all the mugen files in there.

Step 2

if you have xdsl running and you have the linux.cfg thingy of booth xmugen and xdsl
just combine them  with a simply copy paste method and save.

makre sure the cgf file is in the root of the E: drive with the ird-loop.gz

step 3 if you have the gentoox loader or any xdsl loader( a simply xbe file)

load up linux

when it loads up you will see fatx. choose it
and xmugen should be an option there.
load it up and the screen will go black and all the linux code will pop up.

once all the patches and drives load up it will ask you to change the res from 320x280 to 640 etc
32 bit.

from what i have tested you need to have a usb keyboard or hitting
Y on the controller will crash mugen.  i used my wireless leyboard and hit y on it instead.

mugen loaded right up. hit f1 and the game is yours.

step 4

have loads of fun

wasn't quite that simple for me...I had to edit the mugen.cfg file a bit to get it to work properly on my setup.  But it works relatively crash free for me now...  biggrin.gif
