Not to be ungratefull, but i've just resorted to playing the pc version on my tv using my media center comp and a 360 controller with xpadder. Much better this way than playing the waiting game to get this game on a tv, as there's no time when there will be an update to the xbox port.

It's not ungrateful, and I appreciate you feel that it's easier to play the pc one on the tv. I lost a lot of interest in the project when Rebellion nicked my work, as I primarily worked on AvP as a PC update.

That sucks. Yes i used to check this thread almost every day looking for an update. After about a year lol  i picked up a media center comp with xp and *knocks on wood* avp and avp2 have ran flawlessly for me, in 1080p resolution as well, and x padder has completed the console like feel to it.

Rebellion is just pissed because their revamp bombed. I couldn't even get past the first stage of the marine campaign with the new one, as the controls were wonky to me.

The rebellion thing happened at the start of last year. I've lost a bit of steam since then, sure, and I haven't worked on AvP since Christmas, but that's mainly because I really needed a break from it.

I did some minor stuff on the xbox side of things for AvP last night, so hopefully i'll be back on track soon.

i understand my friend, i hope you dont let it completely deter you from this. we all truly appreciate your hard work and everything you do man. i mean i know i dont know you personally, but i can understand what its like to put your free time into something that someone else might not understand how frustrating can be at times. I for one, have no rush on you, and hope to see any kind of update from you in the future.  pop.gif

Like everyone else, mate, I'm just glad you've done so much for us already, and I'm disgusted at Rebellion's actions - I take it what they did was legal re: distribution of your altered code? Legal maybe, but certainly not moral.

Anyway, I hope you do get the time and the will to continue work on the XBox version, but I can understand if Rebellion have soured your interest in the project.

Where is your home page for the PC version of your code, by the way? I'd be interested to see it (though I doubt I'd play it, I'm not too keen a PC gamer nowadays). I've tried google but with no success.

OT: I've heard they might be doing a reboot of the film Alien, I really hope not - I hate reboots, as they are mostly very inferior to the original (why can't they come up with some original ideas).

Hey,

This is the homepage (if you'll call it a webpage at all.. smile.gif )

http://homepage.eirc...~duncandsl/avp/

It's badly in need of a revamp and an update. It does link to the source code though (the SVN server has both the windows and xbox source in there)

I think i've actually forgotten at this stage...water is fixed (at least last time I checked smile.gif )

I should be able to get the FMV playback working for the xbox, but I stopped working on it as just after christmas I was looking into getting the original fmv files that came with the original game playing directly on the xbox/pc without any modification or conversion.

I'm sorta doing bits and pieces at the moment. I *will* release something again sometime in the future, but when, I dunno..and I realise people are losing/lost interest in this but i'm still going.

hey man no rush. cant wait to see what you put out. what i have that you did release is pretty polished as well. i doubt people are losing interest in this project, i can't wait to see what you release for this. and i think i can speak for all of us when i say thank you for your continued work on this and dont let a few idiots shy you away man. if i can be of any help dont hesitate to let me know.

i been watching this port for years and still cant wait to see the finished product! smile.gif

I've not lost interest in it, I still really want the game running properly on the XBox! You're busy, fair enough, we know that, but please don't think we've lost faith in the project (or in you, we do appreciate all that you've done so far). You've already given us a great version of the game, and even if you never get around to fixing it then what you've done so far is already fantastic, please don't imagine otherwise.

Most XBox 1 owners over the years might have moved on to other machines, but a few of us have stayed loyal! Only a few, but we're the best of the bunch  wink.gif
