great void now we can have some more games ported one more thing if you want or can try to port freecraft or jdoom

Actually, that is the last thing we should work on. Getting the game working is more important.

Yeah, it's not hard.  The C part doesn't make this port hard, it's the converting the DirectDraw7 to Direct3D8 part and the bink videos.

EDIT: the smackw32 add on to it

I hate to say it but, I don't know.  These things take time, time that alot of us don't have much of.  There's ALOT of src to go through.

I used to scare little kids by telling them about Bink and Smacker.

But these are simple to remove, the DDraw parts are hard to extract from the sloppy code (I only had a first impression but the code seemed like a mess).

Lol it is a mess.  I'm still learning about how the game works.  I can't even get the game to run, so I have no idea what to expect.

avp and avp2 are not even close to being the same engine.

avp2 uses  the lithtech 2.0 engine and avp1 uses one of EA's engines.  which made it a pain to make a map for.  Not that Monolith's DEdit was ever user friendly like the mass of Quake editors...

Anyways, Shogo would be closer to avp2 then avp is...

AVP is freakin 3cds.  One cd for each race.  Thats kinda alot of work.

Though I loved that game you may be better off porting Blood2 and Shogo.  it's the same engine and they are cross compatible.  Port one game get second one for free.....

two cents....
