Happy New Years :)
« on: December 31, 2012, 05:01:00 PM »

Been thinking about ya'all a lot.

Hope you're all doing well now that we've braved the "end of the world" and come out whole on the other side.

Things are good here.  It seems to take a week or a month to get as much "stuff" done as I was doing on the project in an hour when I was going all out, but at least these things being done now are "meaningful".

I sure do miss the days when I had 3-4 day weekends to mindlessly work on this project, or the year on unemployment when I could work on it full bore.....  I'm making about 1/3rd of my unemployment checks (and about 1/7th of my old salary) working overnight at a local department store 2 to 4 nights a week.... no benefits, vacation or insurance.  Really, it's barely enough to pay the necessities, but I only have to dip a little into what's left of the nest-egg to keep going until something better comes along.

No mortgage or rent though... just taxes and heat and water/trash and electric and groceries, so I can't really bitch at all.

Thanks to all of you for giving me a reason to stay in at night working on this project all those years, rather than going out and "blowing my wad" back when I was making money.  I've hit a severe speed bump in the employment game for now, but I'm the only 33 year old I know who owns their house free and clear.  My monthly rent alone back when I was doing the Xtras was nearly 200 bucks more than every single monthly expense I have now.

Here's hoping for a great 2013 and a job that pays more than the bills for all of us  jester.gif

To those of you who love the Xtras........  biggrin.gif

To those of you who think they're doodie.....   blink.gif

To all my old friends here, here's hoping that you can look past my mistakes and we can be friends once again.

Happy 2013 everyone!

Hey Bigby.

Wish I had the time or desire to keep working on them. smile.gif

I have been playing them for the fist time though and seeing what all the fuss was about.

Pretty sweet smile.gif

Really, there wasn't much left for me to do, at least on systems we were covering at the time.  Hopefully people take new systems and bring them up to that standard, and there are people who love obscure old systems like the Atari 800 and do the same for them.  I did what I could, particularly on systems that Madmab loved as a kid, but there just wasn't enough to make any of them 100% at the time.

All differences aside, good luck to the EmuXtras team from here on out.

Happy New Year,

Heya Ressurection.

I tried sending you a PM but your box is full.

I also tried to send one to you by email but I'm not sure if that actually worked or not.

Maybe some day when you find yourself free, perhaps you could hit me back.

Cheers.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hey there.   cool.gif

I freed up some space in my inbox, but didn't take a ton of time going through it to delete posts.  I don't want to just purge it all in case I ever get back into the scene since I know there was some valuable information and suggestions peppered in with the messages that can just be deleted.   Not much I can do about it with a 100 message limit.  I freed up about 10 or so posts though, so anyone who wants to can message me.

It might take me a while to reply since I'm not on so much anymore, but I'll get back to you if you do message me and my box isn't full.

Take it easy,

I appreciate the posts from some old friends.  Whether it's been just to drop by and say hi or to ask for assistance with something, it's nice to talk to you again.  Hopefully I can still answer the questions, but it's been a while since I did any of this.  I'll try to the best of my ability to lend a hand where I can.  I've been out of the scene so long now though that if I can't, I'm afraid I can't point you in the right direction of who to talk to.  Really, I'd just say to go to the "other site" that has Xtras in the title, join up, and ask around there.  Somebody would be bound to help you out.

How's your 2013 been otherwise?

For the End of Times, it all feels rather boring to me....

I've made 403 bucks and some change so far (after taxes.... yay!).   jester.gif

Boy I sure do miss 1997.  Sure, minimum wage then was just raised to $5.25 an hour, but gas was only 88 cents a gallon.

Glad I don't even know what weed costs today.  My two greatest acheivements in life were weening myself off of it and also going cold turkey on the Xtras project.   cool.gif

You damn kids with your text messaging and Face-booking on your phones!!!!
