cant link to either full or standalone..

Full is approx 50gb
standalone is about 276mb

if you get full you should then ftp standalone over the top of it.

any way like i said i cant link to them. Coinops 5 is where coinops 4 was.
and the standalone is a single download not a torrent.
so you can find both easy enough.

CoinOPS 5 Lite also released
also worth keeping in mind all current CoinOPs 5 versions have locks enabled
you need a certain amount of games in your set or it wont work

The release of CoinOps 5 is great news, but what does "locks enabled" mean, please?

simply means there are locks in coinops that look for certain things if they arn't there then the
emu will "lockup" eg wont be usable for example.........

you need i think around 3000 games in coinops 5 any less it wont work

I thought his stand alone versions allowed for FTPing from a person's main computer.

Do those still count or do they need to be physically on the Xbox's hard drive?

Cheers.

Anyone know if my two biggest items on the CoinOPS want list have been fulfilled yet????

1) The ability for the emulator to recognize two separate controllers for early 2p games like Pac-Man and Pyros when using a console emulator and not having to "throw" the remote back and forth between deaths".

2) "ALLOWANCE MODE"..........

Isn't it EXTREMELY boring to be able to play a TMNT, Double Dragon, or The Simpsons" game with infinite credits??????

On the rare occasion my old man took me and my bros to the arcade, we were limited to only a few bucks each for arcades.  If we wanted to spend our whole 8 quarters on Double Dragon III, that was on us.  We didn't get any continues after our allowance was gone....

I'm looking for a "Front-end" of sorts for arcade games.  One that will allow you to choose before you start playing just how big your "allowance" is before you play.....

Basically, it's a system that would allow you to pre-limit your own ability to give yourself "CONTINUES" before you even started a game.  When you ran out of credits, your MAME session would be over, and you would be forced to put in your high score on the machine and walk away, just like you had to when quarters/credits actually meant anything.....

To this day, I haven't seen that emulated anywhere, and if BP somehow made it happen than he would be the first to make arcade emulation of old school games that allowed continues mean anything.....

I can make one single credit last the whole game for Double Dragon 1 or TMNT 1 today, just as I could back then.  When I play Double Dragon III on Mame though, I don't really care.... I just pump a whole bunch of fake quarters in and play through like a zombie and die.  It's not fun.... it's a chore.......

A pre-determined "allowance" would be great!  Especially if that would encompass multiple players......

Please BP.....

I've been asking for it for years....

Find somebody in your crew that can make this dream happen.  smile.gif

For my part i have three xbox consoles to my home.
I have try CoinOPS5 in two of them.
In one it works fine, i copy the same files to the other one 2 times and it never works !!!!

When i launch it, it show me my IP, with a refresh button and a video on background, nothing more sad.gif
So strange ... i can't fix it, i remove all and come back to CoinOPS 4 R2 sad.gif

I think the locks are the problem ... for sure, but i have more than 3000 games ... sad.gif

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) good advice maybe VISION does it...its seems to be the next big thing....alot are using it instead of all emus now including CoinOPS (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)....CoinOPS has found its match...maybe you ask for it to be added as it gets new builds every week or two

Agree with ressurectionx about the infinite credits. That would be great to incorporate as I find myself doing exactly the same thing - it's just not as fun. I actually built a great MAME cabinet a few years ago which I subsequently sold. I fitted it with a coin door from a real arcade machine so you had to put actual money in order to play it. Much more fun to play when you know you're on your last coin!

Bigger and more complex is cool if the menus and GUI make it easy.....

Actually, I tip my hat to BP for incorporating all of this, and after past events I welcome him taking our work to make his own if he's still at it.  No way I'm still going to spend all of my time on this stuff all these years later.

I still want to know if the two things I asked him to do 5 years ago will ever happen.

So far they haven't......
