With all of these fixes, ui improvements, and anti-aliasing, I'm gonna have to take the new Surreal64 for a spin once it's released.  480i with AA should look pretty good on an SDTV.  Is it safe to assume that 4x Gaussian AA will have enough memory at 480i in most cases?

You bet!  happy.gif

Hey, I'm trying to figure out all this stuff (I'm a noob when it comes to this) because it looks badass.

To get this emulator I'd follow these steps right? and connect to the channel that is in the OP?

Edit: I don't think that's it... haha.  Any beginner tips? i'm checking out all the sticky's but I seem to be lost.

This is a little program that accesses Xbins automatically without messing with separate IRC and FTP clients.

The new version of Surreal64 everyone here is talking about (B5.5) isn't listed there because it's not done yet.  You can find B5.4 there, though.

Thank you so much.  I need to get a crossover cable before I can transfer everything over to my Xbox to continue (unless I can burn this and other files to a disc but I need to read more haha)

Are there any things I should investigate that would help me with the installation of this emulator and to make sure everything runs smoothly?  I'm trying to check out all the FAQ's but I'm afraid a lot of stuff is out of date.  For examples, do I need to find a specific bios for this emulator?

Thank you so much!

I would rather leave it as a track per skin. We could use options for looping and no play at start.

For now, yes, I rather leave it as a track per skin.  The multi-track per skin is just something that's still up in the air. wink.gif   Would also be awesome if your own music (that's in your xbox) can be used as a track for the skin.

These are just ideas though laugh.gif

Boy, I can sure dream...haha  happy.gif  tongue.gif

Perfect Dark is playable with Rice 5.31. 5.60 will bug out when you get shot. Frame rates are acceptable using 720p and 2x Quincunx AA.

GoldenEye will crash if you get 3 or 4 players looking at each other in multiplayer. It also happens randomly. There isn't much we can do about it. Its still fast and pretty reliable for single player. Use UltraHLE.

I get a better experience in Conker using 1964, JttL, M64Plus RSP with RSP Audio listing on, and Rice 5.60. PJ64 gets a little choppy and the gfx flicker every now and then. I'm sure the ini can fix it, but it may drop the frames to something more realistic. 1964 also plays the cutscenes at a better speed. JttL doesn't stutter as much and LLE RSP uses more memory and cpu than the other HLE plugins. Frame rate is around 19-25 fps but closer to 21 which is pretty usable I'll say.

Edit: Wasn't there a GoldenEye mod for Perfect Dark?

After watching those 720 videos.. wow... just wow...

That is actually unbelievable haha. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? Who cares, it works!

Brilliant work guys, brilliant..

This new release, coupled with a flawless ini. May be the ultimate Surreal release ever! forget calling it 5.5 lets go all the way up to Surreal CE 7.0!

Fantastic. I've watched those videos (especially star fox) a few times now haha. They are just mindblowing. The N64 now out does the Wii. hands down! perfect.

can you elaborate on why there isnt much that can be done about it? what makes this game so unplayable multiplayer?

I feel that GE64 was the most played game on N64. would be epic to have this game run at full strength some day.

Ehh, this has already been fixed. Unfortunately we still experience some random crashes in MP, but we do not know what's causing this strange behaviour. huh.gif
Other than that, GE is more playable than in the last version (UHLE) now  happy.gif

Although I'm not Freakdave, I'll take a stab at your question.

You don't have to use Uhle for Goldeneye, but if you want to play it without it being choppy you do (at least in the current version anyway).

Yeah i can understand what your getting at Xboxer64 i just find if very odd how that a very early n64 title like goldeneye has issues running in 1964 or project 64 even with all the ini tweaking scorp has been doing.

Rare does some crazy shit with their games. I fired it up with Rice 6.1.2 in B5.4 and just like parts of Conquer, some of the vertexes were off. They accomplished some great things but they make it difficult.

What I don't understand is the fact that it runs in UHLE... of all things.  blink.gif
But what can you say?

Wow, I never thought I'd ever see N64 games in 720p on my Xbox biggrin.gif Were those 720p videos made on a 128MB Xbox? If not, I'm curious to see the performance difference between 64MB and 128MB RAM for games at 720p. And as always, can't wait for the next release! Keep up the great work!

Very impressive work, I'm amazed that you were able to get N64 games running well in 720p. Glad to see the scene isn't dead  wink.gif

If only someone would give PCSXbox the same kind of love, that emulator is running far below what the Xbox is capable of.
