The game Monopoly was working great on the surreal before the last and now it is playing very slowly.  As you guys continue to upgrade the emulator and tweak things here n there for other games, do the other games get affected as well? If you want I can tell you what Monopoly runs great under, I would have to get the older surreal and find out which settings.

Even though I much prefer N64 emulation on a PC with antialiasing cranked up, it's great to see you guys not giving up on the Xbox port.  Not everyone has a gaming PC with a N64 controller adapter, after all.

Goldeneye plays really well now! That's amazing.

Now can someone get to working on Blast Corps? That game runs like it is on crack. If the speed and little TV can be fixed it would be perfect! Thanks!

Using this same method I was able to slow down Blast Corps (U) (v1.1) [!] (which played too fast for me in some levels) using PJ64 with Rice 5.10 and Video Memory = 5 MB.

Edit Project64.rdb, search the Blast Corps (U) (v1.1) [!] entry and edit the Counter Factor to 3 or 4 (4 is slower, but might be too slow for your preference).

Anyone know how to get Turok and Virtual Pro Wrestling to play more smoothly?

I grabbed Surreal64_XXX_CE_B5.4.zip from the usual place.  I unzipped it and then ftp'ed over to my xbox.  When I launch the emulator from XBMC, the opening screen is in black and white and it freezes almost immediately.  I did a site search for "surreal64 lock" but there are so many posts with those words that are not quite relevant to my situation that I am not sure what to do next in my troubleshooting.

I had been using an older version of surreal64 and saved some games, could the TDATA or UDATA for the prior install be causing my problem?

Hey guys.... sorry for asking a stupid question more than once.

Just wondering if anyone figured out any progress with Goldeneye?   I just gave away my old N64 to a friend who always put up a good challenge back in the day.  Was cool to see that his kid didn't think that Mario Kart 64 was lame.  Good to see the classics will always hold up.

I know I'm going to go through 007 withdrawl sooner or later though. wink.gif

The control stick issues were fixed around the time B5.3 came out. Blast Corps does run very fast and can probably be tweaked to slower speeds via ini/pdb editing. See YRUSirius' post.

The multiplayer Goldeneye crashes are still existent but way over my head and freakdave is still working away at the new launcher.

Turok works much better with the new audio plugins in B5.4. I think Azimer is the preferred plugin.

Did you try deleting the surreal saves in the TDATA, UDATA folders?  Maybe that would do the trick.  As for Goldeneye, does everyone know that it is coming out for the wii?  Doesn't look too great though imo.

Clearing the UDATA and TDATA didn't seem to have an effect, but I also did some cleanup, cleared the cache from E:/ and double checked the Surreal directory, found a couple leftover files from b5.1 that don't exist in b5.4 and got rid of those.

Now it doesn't lock up when it runs, with the default skin the main screen is still black and white and screwed up, but still functions, the Neverwill skin works just fine though, so that's good enough for me!

Thanks for the help

I thought i has problems too with the black & white skin, all garbled up.
But I think thats how the skin is supposed to be...?
I ended up getting the skin neil222 did for surreal 64, really like his skins.
Heres a link to that thread if you want it:

Fixed: Fog was enabled in 5.6 causing Texture problems
Fixed: Settings Menu did not show Rom name
Changed: Deadzone is now calculated by percent, can still be tweaked a little bit
Fixed: Possibly fixed a bug where Surreal would crash if the rom list wasn't already loaded. Needs testing!

This would have very few new features if any, as freakdave is focusing on A1.0 and I'm no where near as talented as he is.

Development for Surreal64CE A1.0
1964 v1.1 - development halted. Freakdave's port (1964z) is available on SF.net http://surreal64xxxc.../branches/A0.1/
Any developer that feels they can at least move this project to the next step please do!

Launcher - still being developed on private SVN.
Skinning support is what freakdave is still nailing down.
After the skin engine works properly and the first skin is created, the GUI can be tweaked to work with the most recent xbox sources. No more XXX menu!

the ign site says "Release Date: November 2, 2010" still looks like its coming. we'll see how it is once its out.

as for the skin looking black and white with a little color, yea that is how its supposed to look and as John McClane i went to neils222's skin. i also liked the old default skin but with this music instead:

I'm working to get font customizable by a skin.ini.

On the To Do list would be:
-Addressing audio bug in Launcher
-Addressing mempak bug and set rumblepak to default
-Create new approach to rompaging using Surreal 1.0, Surreal CVS and Team XXX rompaging. This should resolve 128mb discrepancies once and for all
-Anything else doable and necessary
