Here we are again with a new release of Surreal64 XXX CE, weinerschnitzel and i have been working very hard to make this release possible  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I'd like to thank

schibo: for releasing his 1964 and musyx audio plugin sources

odd and lantus: if it wasn't for them, there wouldn't be any Surreal64 at all

3z0n3: for his great improvements in B5.1 CE

weinerschnitzel: for his awesome support and additions since B5.3

scorp316: for his video ini and pj64 rdb fixes on WWF No Mercy, GoldenEye and other roms

Note: Delete your ini folder before upgrading to B5.4
Note: For even greater compatibility you might want to experiment with the Rice ini files, ultra.ini, 1964.ini, Project64.rdb, take a look into the Docs folder to find out more!

@ Cbagy: The following games for the N64 need your version of 3d boxart that I found in my rom set:

Taz Express
Rakuga Kids
Premier Manager 64
Michael Owens Wls 2000
G.a.s.p! Fighter's Nextream
F1 Racing Championship
F-1 World Grand Prix II
40 Winks

P.S. - Bomberman 64: The Second Attack has the incorrect boxart and it should be this.......http://quiteajolt.com/vgf/bomberman64sa/00%20Box%20Front.jpg

Otherwise, the boxart looks amazing and how one little change can make it look that much better wink.gif.  Great job cbagy!

He has it in there, just under a different crc. Could you post the CRC's for those games that have missing art? It would make it a little easier to name the boxart correctly as not all of us have those roms. Or at least I don't.

You can search for the rom name in surreal.ini and the crc should come up in brackets.

Anyway, this new release seems to have resolved the issue with upgraded XBOX systems. Thanks for the update! My 1.4ghz - 128 RAM Trusty Xbox now loads games without issues, here are some results:

Conkers Bad Fur day plays well using 1964/Rice 5.61, usually averaging about 20 FPS, but varying sometimes to 15 or as high as 30. Sound is consistent without stuttering.

Majora's Mask also plays OK. Average framerate is 74 using 1964/Rice 5.1. It also varies and sometimes the music stutters, but not nearly as bad as on a stock Xbox. I noticed in the Clock Town the slowdown is significantly diminished. Sometimes the framerate drops to 40 and the music stutters, but that usually when entering (loading) a different part of town. On a stock Xbox when I tried playing this game, I turned it off when I got to this part. smile.gif

All in all, favorable results. There are a lot of bugs in this emulator still though. For instance, in Conkers, there are a few points when you see things from the (drunk) characters point of view. These, I assume, blurry/drunk views are gibberish computer artifacts.

This is run at 480P.

Any games in particular I should test? I don't know much about the n64.

Thats right, pick on the skinny kid. lol.
As weinerschnitzel said, there's a good change the images are there just labelled as a different crc.
Copy the image and name it to suit your rom's crc.
I have no doubt the will be quite a few missing, i only made what boxart was available from a paticular source, as to that source, i can't even remember.
Have a good look through them on your PC and if there's any missing let me know and i'll see if i can't find a good image to make a box out of. ok !
