Banjo-Kazooie Shows Lines and doesn't play at all
Banjo-tooie Loads up and then freezes...
Donkey Kong 64 doesn't play the Rap Intro...


I've did everything to make the emu install and still have the same results so far...

Before you start running your mouth off, I wasn't being disrespectful to you, I was pointing out that this thread is for B5.4 and what you put was settings for was for a previous version, and Im sure there is a topic somewhere for that.

Well.....configuring 3D texture games is a lot more challenging than 2D texture games.  As the N64 uses 3D texture games, it contains more settings for it to work....which are very difficult to adjust because every rom has its own particular settings.  Unfortunately, UltraHLE is no longer in progress, and both 1964 and PJ64 have slowed down in progress...which has slowed the entire Surreal64 progress down.  Unless you know how to code these roms correctly and adjust their settings, I suggest you be patient and wait for updates as they come along. smile.gif

Nice work for constantly improving 64 emulation on the xbox... I find that I now use my xbox for pretty much all of my 64 emulation needs and dont even look towards my PC.

It is truly ridiculous how far we have come with emulation on the xbox. I dont care what anyone says, because it seems as though we pretty much have perfect emulation in so many games now.

Looking forward to all future releases!


I set my analog setting to 4 and it seems to work pretty good, but you wont be running quite as fast as before, I think I been using ultrahle. Runs pretty good

Thrilled that this app is still receiving updates from you guys, great work on this.

Is this running the new 1964 source? Or is that a completely different Surreal version?

Hey guys....

Not sure which version I have, but it's the first one which fixed the targeting issues on Goldeneye.   I was just at my bros trying to play it last weekend and though it seems that 1 player works fine, on 2 player games with the default settings from Monkey's project the game seems to freeze when a character dies (most of the time) and it also freezes randomly throughout.  

Has anyone else noticed this and/or figured out a way to fix it?

Ya this has been this way forever. FreakDave's research is showing that its a audio bug in ultrahle and quite a tough one to fix

Before u view my list below.....upload this file and insert it into the Surreal64 folder......replace the old file (erase the "ini" folder in the Surreal64 folder)

Surreal.ini

Goldeneye (thanks to Freakdave)
WWF No Mercy
Toy Story 2
WWF Wrestlemania 2000


Here is my Surreal64 B5.4 ce Compatibility list:

That is it for me with Surreal64......for now......as my XBOX v1.0 now needs to be modchipped (which is why my progress on Surreal64 has been delayed) sad.gif


The rest of my progress (which is an update on the PJ64. rdb) will be released with Freakdave's next update to Surreal64.

I've only played 2 player on Mario Kart battlemode so far, but it plays perfect.  Here's hoping 4 player does as well.  I should know soon.

Goldeneye is the only other game I care about for the system.  N64 in my opinion didn't have much to offer for a library in general, but Goldeneye and Kart 64 are 2 of the best 4 player games ever made.  There's been tons of copycats since and even though some of them may be superior to them now, there's a lot to be said about nostaliga.  A lot of good times have been had playing these games 4 players.  

BTW.. does anybody know if that other good 4 player game works?  The one where a bunch of Nintendo characters beat the hell out of each other?   I forget the name.  It had a version for the Gamecube, but it suffered from the same problem that Kart 64 did.... they both sucked on the Gamecube.

3-4 player Mario Kart does work really well. Although it doesn't run as well as 2 player, the real n64 didn't run it as smoothly either. I recommend the 5.31 plugin though, so that when you use a ghost you can still see yourself on your screen properly...... or if you're racing a ghost in time trials.

also..... you must mean SUPER SMASH BROTHERS. One of my favorites. Gameplay for this game is pretty good. It runs smoothly on 1964 but you can't see your hand icon to make selections. Assigning cpu players and difficulty settings it really tough. You can see the hand icon in PJ, but it doesn't run as well. I recommend the 5.10 plugin, or else Congo jungle and Dreamland backgrounds are goofed.


PJ64 does a better job with the graphics.....like the sky.  No longer crashes during intense 2 player battles (rocket launcher).... unsure.gif though i didn't try 3 or 4 player battle yet.  Some slowdown....but nothing too serious.  Still very playable.....it doesn't glitch on PJ64 as in the previous Surreal64 releases.

 wink.gif So I guess it is just an update....not quite sure how to solve the crashing issue on UltraHLE.
I recommend playing Goldeneye w/ PJ64 (as it won't crash)....for now

a great 4 player game that plays well is wayne gretzky's 3d hockey. its more blintz syle hockey. just 3 on 3 and not many rules/penelties. fun once you get the buttons down. and this games plays perfectly.

also enjoyed some monster truck madness. the king of the hill game and some of the hockey / soccer games were fun. from what i remember it plays good.

Thanks for the updated emulator. I downloaded the newest surreal.ini from post #84 in this thread and now Goldeneye is blue, the textures are blue and flash. Any ideas on how to fix this, or should I switch back to UltraHLE?

I also deleted the ini folder before I loaded the updated emulator
