Tsop 4 Way Switch Multiflash
« on: October 06, 2003, 04:16:00 PM »

i have been reading up on the TSOP switch method, but i have heard rumor from xboxlinux that flashing your TSOP with a switch does not work well ( 4 bios)  is this only for running linux? or is this for all xbox apps and games?

also... i have tried to figure out where to solder my ground... some places show 3.3 v  and some show 5 v

can someone give me a detailed response on exactly what to do for the best results... i have xbox 1.0

i would like to run 4 x 256 or 2 x 512..

should i just buy a xbit? or should i go ahead and install my switch on the TSOP?

:)

thanks!

yeah, we havent been able to figure out what xbox-linux has been smoking, i havent had any problems with my TSOP

anyway, use 2 SPDT switches and to switch between 3.3v - a19 - GND and 3.3v - a18 - GND

for ground just wrap the end of the wire around one of the screws holding th emotherboard in

well you could ground a19 and a18 with 2 switchers your be fine but it wont work with multi bios's. you need to use vcc  to split the tsops (ground->vcc->a19) i think this is why they say its not safe. ive done this on a m8s xbox and it works but i've also had a shock from the switch due to the 3 points touching each other so i can see how this could fuck your m/b up but then again ive not seen any fuck up yet ;)
