Huh, I don't get 'pregap' in the cue even when I select the -2s switch, also don't get the 01,02,03 etc it creates it as 1,2,3, for the single digit TRACK lines... A I missing something in cddissect? Every bin/cue I have converted w/ cddissect has come out like the one I posted above.

Cddissect assumes you are ripping an original disc... if it is in fact a rip from a burned disc (unless it was a 1:1 copy) your pregap wont make much of a difference.

you should make sure when loading the cue you select the correct game off the TOC list in the emulator and not just forcing it to use the cue you selected.

I still can't get beyond the PC Engine CD System screen without a load error. I am most definitely using the perfect cue file from the list in mednafenx and not forcing mine. Still no go sad.gif

is your source an iso/mp3, iso/ape, iso/wave or bin/cue before burning it to a disc?

I'm using Daemon Tools and mounting the bin/cue image that way. I didn't think that was going to be a problem, as Ive seen that others were using that technique to do it... Must I burn the bin/cue to an actual disc first?

no it should be ok... you may want to try a different virtual disc utility tho to see if that might be an issue.

you might want to try MagicISO or something similar just in case.

*EDIT*
if you have a CDRW around you might want to burn it to that and try booting it directly.

Just did it with what you suggested, same outcome...  sad.gif

I bet Track 2 is being corrupted during the ripping process.

I have been able to boot every game from the HDD... it has a 95% compatibility rate as far as I can tell.

I don't know what to tell you other than try a different source.

Thanks for all the help.  I ended up trying a different source and using the cuesheets from necstasy. No issues!! Every one I have tried has worked fine. So I guess converting from .ape to wav vs mp3 and using the necstasy cuesheets is what works for me.

Converting from ape to mp3 or wave to mp3 should work just fine also.

all of mine are iso/mp3 rips that I made myself.

I'd say your issue was actually something going wrong when you were ripping using a virtual cdrom.

TG-16 I gave up on after a while and just took all the files off the HD , and with Sega CD namely Sonic CD. The game would play, but with no sound. Then if I exited the game and tried to play it again it would go to the BIOS for some reason and play it as a CD.... its like I could get game with no sound, or sound with no game. There must be something I'm missing/doing wrong

P.S. Congrats on 500 posts! I just saw that and thought I'd mention it lol

with the sega CD ones I never changed the names from what they were when I got them... is there a certain default naming scheme? or do you have to rename them a specific way??

I think it was just, "track 1", "track2", exc

yeah, that's exactly how my Sonic CD looks. Yet it plays no music... Do you think I may have a bad rip of the game or something? or could something else cause this problem?
