Question For Bombbloke (psx)
« on: October 13, 2009, 05:19:00 PM »

Hey bud,

I was wondering if I could borrow some of your coding skills.

I wanted to create about 1,200 or more folders with names matching the names I've given all the PSX games on my PC.

These folders would then be put on my box and they would display the video and artwork for the game without having to FTP all the games to my box (which is impossible since the entire collection is larger than my hard drive even if it was empty).

This is the best way I can come up with to test the Xtras on the box.

Think something like this is possible?  A batch that will make a folder for every file in whatever directory I point to?  Otherwise, I've got a real boring weekend or two ahead of me.   cool.gif

Thanks,
~Rx

Hey BB,

No file extension.  Just the file name.  A majority of the disc images I have are now zipped up on my PC to save on space, so they're all zips.

So "Final Fantasy 8.iso" would make a folder called "Final Fantasy 8"

"X-Com - UFO Defense.zip" would make a folder called "X-Com - UFO Defense"

Sorry... Guess I could have PM'd.   I just prefer to put stuff in the forums rather than in a PM for the most part.

Thanks man!

Madmab,

Yeah... I just thought of that last week.  I can't believe I didn't think of it earlier with all the work I've done on Sega CD and TGCD.  Should work a charm.

Later,
~Rx

You are a genius, my friend.

That's perfect.  Got done in about 20 seconds here what would have taken me at least a day or two's worth of work.

Thanks a million.

EDIT:  Just transfered some of the videos over with these folders and it works perfect.  Still will be a while before any releases for PSX, but that should speed it up a bit.
