dunno why it virtual kb doesnt work, but you could just map a couple of controller buttons to space, enter etc, in the options menu of the emu.

I already tried that and it didn't work (along with some other tricks). However, a few minutes ago, i deleted the vice.ini file inside the emulator folder and the problem disappeared.
