I tried installing this last night. Now matter what I do it will not find the roms.I edited the ini so it would show where my roms are. it should read like this "F:\Emulators\Surreal64\Roms\" . But when I start it up it always says can't find rom edit ini and refresh. I did have an older version on this xbox before. Could that be the issue? I deleted the save game from udata but not tdata. Can someone please help me?

Try changing your rom path to D:\Roms

Make sure there is a "roms" folder in your surreal emulator folder.

Put all your roms in there.

Try that and see what happens. That's how I've always set mine up and never had any issues.

Hey guys,

Great to hear that there is still some work being done on surreal64. I can't believe that the 1964 v1.1 source code that we've heard so much about has finally been found, thanks to schibo  biggrin.gif, and is being implemented, thanks ez0n3!

Also, I heard that Darknoir is working on an .ini file containing all of the best settings for each game? That sounds like a fantastic idea and something I'd considered making something myself  smile.gif

Are you still working on this Darknoir? If so, how is the progress going and can I be of assistance? Could u pm me a copy of the ini so far? I would love to help with such a great project.

Hello people, I would just like to inform anyone still interested in this topic that I have started a NEW compatibility and performance settings list for Surreal 64 B5.1 CE

I am attempting what Darknoir proposed, and creating a full compatibility list, WITH optimal performance settings for getting each game running perfectly or as close as possible.

Once I am complete, should be in about a month, I will upload my surreal configuration file, surreal.ini, containing all of my settings for people to download, saving you A LOT OF TIME.

Right now the list is about half way done and I have found at least 20 or so games that I have been able to get working better than has been described in other compatibility lists by using alternate plugins and ram settings. So once complete, this will be the most compatible list for surreal 64 to date. I am using a google spreadsheet to compile the information and keep it updated.

View the List So far

Please feel free to come and discuss any settings or ask any questions at the active thread:Surreal 64 B5.1 CE Compatibility and Performance Settings list

hey ez0n3, are you still searching for the newest rice plugin source?
as of now, the project has gone to the community and is now called emu-1964. the newest version of the plugin is 6.3 or "1964 Video r35"
the project's website is here.
hope this helps, and sorry if you already knew this.

Bi weekly updates would be awesome!

Even if you haven't touched the code in months I'm sure everyone would still like to know your current progress.

It just happens to be your lucky day W.Ford, as I have just released a complete (pretty much) surreal.ini file for Surreal XXX B5.1 CE on The Unofficial Surreal 64 Compatibility and Performance Settings List thread

You will find the ini file on the thread. Sorry for not linking you to it directly. I just want to make sure that you are aware of the thread so that you can post any future questions, comments or suggestions about the ini there   smile.gif

Enjoy!

Also, if you still wish to alter the game specific settings, simply press 'X' button while the game is highlighted in the surreal menu to bring up the option for adjusting max ram and audio plugin settings. Note that you can only do this while in the menu, not while playing a game.

Does anyone know if this version of surreal utilizes the analog stick sensitivity settings in the ini?

I have been trying to adjust the sensitivity of the analog sticks for different games using these commands in the ini:

Preferred NPad Deadzone=8000 (smaller = more sensitive)
Preferred XPad Deadzone=0.24  (smaller = more sensitive)
Preferred XPad Summand=0.5    (smaller = less sensitive)

From what I have read, these options were introduced in Freak Dave's versions of surreal FDBv2.0 and subsequent FDB releases. I was wondering if anyone knows if these commands were incorporated into this XXX B5.1 CE release?

I've been trying to adjust settings via the ini but am not noticing any difference. Perhaps it is the way I am trying to use the settings.

Any help is greatly appreciated  smile.gif

To be honest, I don't think that the controller sensitivity actually works with surreal.  It would be great if this feature could be fixed so that games like super smash bros and virtual pool could work properly.
