well to be honest a few of these options require more ram not less meaning messing with them at all creates a crash on xbox, but the ones that work well for most games are
fast texture
(because it ignores crc and draws what it loads. can cause lines on the edges of textures but speeds up some games by 5 fps)
disable big textures
(because some of the rare games use these. when changed it loads them still but faster.

not quite sure how this works

but it does help by 2-3 fps)
texture 1 hack
(because beetle adventure racing and maybe a few others require it to fix texture placement)
but ones to avoid are
normal blender ( just doesnt work properly on xbox)
disable texture cache ( loads them into ram on request, filling ram faster)
fast loading tile ( same as above but for tiles)
basically these above are the ones that can make or break upto 7-8 fps on some games.
one more question,
does surreal use frame skipping at all because it seems to draw every frame?. because in the rice settings page for default options theres a frame skipping box, but im not sure if that would work on the xbox (i think it links to the emulators framskipping) and im not sure if is even in xbox versions.
if i knew anything about coding i'd help, but alas i have no clue

Good to know

. I have yet to try all of the different settings. I'm not sure about the frame skipping, that's something I'll have to look into.

I forgot also,
Your idea to simplify the launch of the games was excelent !
If it is possible, when we clic a game, there are two options :
- Use INI file Config Auto
- Use MANUAL configuration (where we can config all manualy for the game)
Like that, it is quicker, easyer, and very good for personnal test of configuration ...
Thanks
It sorta is like this already. It reads the INI by default but then allows you to override those setting in the menu.

I registered just for this
Ill just get all my complaints off my chest and realize that coding is dificult especially when you dont know the creation inside and out.
well, Ive wanted more flexible skin support for a while. Something like the X-port emulators such as xboyadvanced and znesbox where you can actually edit the skin within the emulator to fine tune it. Mostly I just want to be able to use different size boxart and the addition of scrolling previews would be great. My interest came after finding this site:
http://imageevent.co...4...amp;w=0&p=0and realized that the current box art it much too small and not of good quality and even one at %175 the current size shows much more detail. also the file name structure of boxart is not very good. A simplified version with the actual game name in it would help make it less of a mess. I was looking around today for some sort of .xml or.ini file to edit the skins but found none
I would also want to see some sort of database that it can grab the best configurations from or perhaps some sort of down loadable .ini that you can "load from .ini" to make configuration easier and that would include comments on how it runs.
Game shark and action replay abilities would be a major plus.
Thank you so much for this release! Ive been playing Mario Kart with lag for too long!

Keep up the efforts my friend.
I'm going to see what I can do about adding better skin support, but no guarantees

. Bomb Bloke actually put forth the updatable INI idea a little while back, but that might be over my head

. Plus it would require a host or like a sourceforge page. I'm working on a database for the INI on a free host - but they shun connecting remotely. This is still up ion the air so I'm not sure what I'm going to or can do. Only time will tell

.
I'm not sure what would be required for the gameshark, but my guess off hand would be that it would require an emulator update. 1964 is the only emulator has the possibility of an update - but the author is hard to get a hold of. The other two, well - don't hold your breath

.

to do this some one would have to work out the best setting for allmost every n64 game then upload a pack, but that might be useless at the moment because enzon3 said he was looking at changing the options and updating the plugins meaning by the time we have a config there would be new options for getting games working.
good idea overall but most of the compatability list are based on surreal 1.0 or surreal xxx which have different options, the one enzon3 released has options from both meaning it would have to be done from scratch.
maybe a new compatability list is what we need.
I'm already working on it

. But like you mentioned - it needs a rework because of some new things that we're added. Plus I was going off of the INI's and there are some settings in the source that aren't used in the INI - so there's some more setting I have to add. Basically when it's up and running, people will be able to add their configs and will be able to vote on the config that works best for them (theirs or someone else). Then when someone downloads the INI, the config with the most votes will be the one that's used.
