Need to know has anyone done this because mine isnt flashing.

OK, I finally got it to flash with the M7 bios. I used the 007- evox exploit. Tried with the 007-raincoat at first, but couldnt get it to work. It didnt work with the 007-evox until I edited the ini file. I just took the bios chip config from my raincoat ini, and added it to evox ini.

My chip was a ST - M29F002BT70n1

I dont know if it was because of the "B"  or the "b"...

but I guess you cant go wrong with a config file like that!

Hey nitussi,

I have the same chip. The version guides tell me that I have a either a version 1.2 or a 1.3 xbox. But I have your same TSOP chip. I have bridged my write connections for a version 1.2+ as per http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/tsop.php . Yet, I keep getting "Manufacturers ID 09 Device ID 00 !!Flash not writeable!!".

Did you bridge the all three connections as per the guide for 1.2s and above?
Could I use the new  x2.4979.06_256k.bin bios once I am able to flash this TSOP?

And most importantly, before you used the raincoat.ini you have posted, were you getting the same error message as me?

I did one yesterday. Download the new version of raincoat and use x2 4979. Just soldered the top two points. I was kinda worried it wouldn't work right but all is well.

I added the crc lines to my evox.ini and I tried flashing the TSOP with X2 4979.06 repack and its been sitting there for about 5 minutes. It just says erasing but theres no status bar. What can I do?

Its a 1.5 xbox and i'm using the MechAssault with Evox Hack.  <_<

if it's a winbond chip it's not gonna flash it,  gotta use raincoat.

i tried to flash a 1.0 and 1.5 and both said unwriteable what is goin on i know i solder the points together good i used a magnifying glass to check.....and i have done alot of other modifications to xboxs so i know what im doin with a soldering iron and stuff..any ideas of problems you may have had??

what type of chip do you have a hynix winbond, etc

did you check your solder points

did you even solder

check those and then reply then we can help you

I tried to use the MechAssault/Raincoat hack but it won't let me telnet in. I'm using my laptop with a crossover cable and I set the IP to 192.168.0.10. It won't even let me ping the xbox, which is 192.168.0.64 right? The crossover cable works fine because I tested it on my modded xbox. I'm not sure what else I can check...

Also, is it possible to load raincoat thru EvoX?

How exactly do you tell a 1.3 from a 1.4 from a 1.5? I really cannot find the info here. I have flashed alot of 1.3/1.5, but Im not sure how to identify the later versions, other that the Focus chip.

set you ip to 192.168.0.1 and it should work fine token

also the raincoat question i am pretty sure but why would you?

i just tried to flash a hynix yes i soldered and i KNOW that they are touching i even redid them it still will not flash tried usin slayers...i dont get it... i am screwed now cause before i messed up and anyways i wont be able to make this box run original cause i formatted the hdd.this sucks i will have to buy another chip if i cant get it, i followed the tuts exactly..i have done all my othe rmods from this site and been fine..
