Flashing A Ver. 1.4 Or 1.5
« on: September 26, 2003, 09:25:00 PM »

Just need to know if it can be done with 007 raincoat, because i cant seem to flash it without getting a "manf=0x20, dev=0xB0", which I assume means," Wrong device Id".

I have the new M7 bios.

My chip is a ST M29F002BT70N1.

Soldered the two top points, and the one on the bottom, like Ive done in the past on other xboxes.

This is my config file:

Flash = 0x01a4,"AMD - Am29F040B",0x80000
Flash = 0x01d5,"AMD - Am29F080B",0x100000
Flash = 0x01da,"AMD - Am29LV800B",0x100000
Flash = 0x015b,"AMD - Am29LV800B",0x100000
Flash = 0x378c,"AMIC - A29002",0x40000
Flash = 0x04d5,"FUJITSU - MBM29F080A",0x100000
Flash = 0xadb0,"Hynix - HY29F002",0x40000
Flash = 0xadd5,"Hynix - HY29F080",0x100000
Flash = 0xc236,"MACRONIX - MX29F022NTPC",0x40000
Flash = 0xbf61,"SST - SST49LF020",0x40000
Flash = 0x20b0,"ST - 29F002",0x40000
Flash = 0x20f1,"ST - M29F080A",0x100000
Flash = 0x89a6,"Sharp - LHF08CH1",0x100000
Flash = 0xda0b,"Winbond - W49F002U",0x40000
Flash = 0xda8c,"Winbond - W49F020",0x40000

Anyone tell me what im doing wrong?

Also, I just bought this box today...it came with clone wars and tetris...manufacture date is August 20, 2003.

I didn't know v1.4 and v1.5 were flashable yet. I've only seen v1.0-1.3 so far.

v1.4 is flashable, v1.5 I haven't tried myself but the only difference we know of between 1.4 and 1.5 has to do with LPC - not with the TSOP.

007 works - I flashed mine through EvoX and not raincoat though.

the V1.4 has the same mobo layout as the 1.3 just bridge the same points as if you were doing a v1.3

just open it up and if you have a focus video chip then it is a 1.4/1.5

You can only use EvoX M7 in a v1.4/v1.5 so far. Do NOT flash it with anything else - it won't go black - it will FRAG and you won't get a second chance (unless you solder in a 29-wire homebrew)

What version of raincoat are you using?  0.3 doesn't support the newer flash types.  0.5 ignores the raincoat.conf.  0.501 reads it properly.  You've already got 20b0 in the list, so it ought to work.

Bottom points aren't needed, you've already linked them when doing the top points nearest the TSOP.

Just did a 1.4 or 1.5...

Strange thing...it would not flash with evox with proper info in the ini...
However I could flash with raincoat.

bccloser: EvoX can't flash Winbond-chips - everything else should work. For Winbond raincoat 0.5+ is needed.
