There is a guide to X-Bins in my signature. Outside that, discussion of where to get XDK compiled software is disallowed. Don't ask for locations.

Where are you putting this INI file? If not in Surreal's save game folder, make sure you delete that folder after changing it or it won't have any effect.

let me reword my question, I'm running UnleashX 3.something bios. The path for my emulator is E:\apps\Surreal64. What should my rom path be if i want it to run from a Subfolder in the Surreal64 directory (E:\apps\Surreal64\Roms\)?

Ah, I see you haven't read the FAQs then...  tongue.gif

Ok, the first time you run Surreal it creates a save game folder (which you can view with the same save managers you'd use for games such as Halo, Fable, etc). It takes a copy of that INI file and sticks it in said save folder, and THAT's the INI it'll use from then on.

So, in order for your changes to take effect, you need to wipe out that save folder (or at least replace the INI in that location). Otherwise Surreal never notices you've changed it. The point to this is so that you can boot the thing off a CD/DVD, then re-configure it without having to burn a new disc.

It's easiest just to say that if a given download contains an XBE file, then it was compiled with the XDK.

sorry for double or triple posting but it's not letting me edit.
Anyways I deleted and reuploaded Surreal 64 (same directories to everything)
deleted the Surreal64 save file everytime i edited the path.
loaded it up with the rom path E:\apps\Surreal64\Roms
then i tried D:\Roms\
then I tried F:\Roms\
also tried \Roms\

None of them worked. Isn't D: the DVD drive, meaning i can burn the Roms folder to an Xiso and load them off the DVD-R?

Wait, are you still getting the black screen, or is the emulator running but still not listing ROMs?

Now I gotta figure what's the best way to load up Pokemon Stadium 2 and the 3 south park games tongue.gif

Good on you for figuring it out... even if it don't make much sense....

If I could only recall all of the hundreds of things I've seen happen that didn't make any sense only start to make sense later after I understood more deeply what is really going on.

Check THIS LINK for info on your compatibility on those games.  Just click the N64 button in the first post and the Surreal compatibility list will show up.

Got them for tons of other systems too, and a lot of videos and artwork too if you haven't seen it.

Good luck getting those roms working.   Goldeneye doesn't play 100%, but I'm happy with the way Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 play, so it's all good.

Later,
~Rx
