I was hard-core OCD about that stuff.

That's actually the problem.

That's actually the problem.

That's easy to say, I'm sure, when most of the work was laid out for everyone perfectly for every system covered in the RessurectionXtras now (except for PSX which was largely unfinished, and DOS which caused all of this drama in the first place and would take 10 of me a lifetime to actually complete anyways).

For 4 years straight, I did the work of 20 people, working up to 40 hours a week with no pay and I documented everything.  I was manager, tester, documenter and grunt worker for nearly half of my 20's for what has become an unappreciative, and at times, hostile audience.

Being that I was the one holding the reins for so long, things were put together exactly the same from system to system and documented properly.  There are no questions about any Xtras work that was done while I was on call because everything had been done in the same format.

And I KNOW that people don't work very well together in a free-for-all environment, because even people who I respect here couldn't follow directions on the Synopsis work and I had to do so much editing on what others were submitting that I just told everyone I'd do it myself.  It may be a little used feature in the emulators, but the synopsis work alone probably took me 8 months of 40 hour unpaid weeks to complete.

Yes, there were many people who devoted much of their time and resources to the project and I've never wanted to imply that I was taking away from their contributions.  All I'm saying is that I alone made the final decisions about how things were added to the project and I alone documented said changes.

All in all, I'm very proud of my work, and I'm ashamed at the way that many members of the community have treated me after I left.

Rx, what exactly do you want ? To be in control of everything again ?

The way things stand now, anyone is welcome to contribute and update the xtras (yes the ressurectionxtras you put so much effort into). No one person is in overall charge, which I believe is the way the world should be.  smile.gif

I don't know if you can login at emuxtras or not, but there's always the IRC channel for now.

I can only speak for myself, but it's not the same without you  biggrin.gif

Can't we all just get along!!!!!  tongue.gif

Like I said and like we can read in your answer again, you don't get the point. What is done is done. It now belong to people if they want to continue or not. Bigby and I did, others are doing so as well. Wathever you think of the current work.

Bu perhaps we should stop everything and close the site once and for all ? This way we would have more time devoted to the cult of Rx ?

Sorry but things have never been going so well:People can now follow the projects and request wathever they need to enjoy their hobby. Whatever emu is targeted. This is faaaaar more interesting than simply reading this topic and wait.

Sorry if you lost your access simpy because of the password chande and didn't trust us from the start. But because of your silly behavior here, your permanent egocentrism and the absence of respect to other members work, I'm now part of the people who will ignore you in the future.Take your conclusions. Up to you to continue your project the "OCD way" after all.Good luck.

Hehe.....

This is my project.  It won't be the same without me here.

When the time comes that I can devote a large portion of my free time to it again, it will be done, and there will be strides made that just can't be made in my absence.

Say what you want, but I was the guy who got it done.  The "Xtras" would be nothing without my guidance over the years.

I know you put a lot of effort personally into the, what was it.... Amiga?  Sorry if I'm wrong about that..... a litle fuzzy since I've' been gone.  I think it's great work.... anything that one person would devote so much time and care to...  And I also think, since you were solely in charge of that system's project that it was done with a great degree of care and accuracy.

Now imagine being in charge of 20 systems and making them all work like that over 4 years.

What I'm saying  is that when you have total control over the end result, you can corral the work of others and make something great on a grand scale.

I'm very happy that you and a few others have chosen to boldly tackle systems that I would never have tackled myself.  Colecovision was one of the systems I never would have done, but I knew that Madmab loved the system so I made a point to do it for all of the work he contributed.

You're one of the guys I wish wasn't fighting me on this Waal.  You're one of the few I trust will do a good job and see the project to the end.

I'm just not a fan of people changing the name of a project I established 5 years ago and poured easily 5000 hours of my life into.

God strike me down now if I'm lying that when I have free time and server space is much cheaper than it is at the moment that I won't take this project right back.

To me, it's still the RessurectionXtras.

EmuXtras is just what was spawned off of it from haters and wannabes and will drop off the map when I come back in full force.

In the mean time... I hope you're all seriously documenting stuff.....

Because anything that isn't documented at least to the standards of the original Rx 1.0 release online documents will be thrown out.

And do I need a coder when that time comes?

It would be nice... but Madmab already made his case against me.... so it won't be there.

A month ago, I couldn't light a pilot on a furnace, and yet today I have a furnace working that was sabotaged by the previous foreclosed on owners.  It only cost me 8 bucks for a thermo-couple rather than 110 bucks an hour for labor plus parts.

If when that time comes I need to learn how to code because everyone is being bitches, I'll figure it out myself.

I'll say what I said before again....

You all have done me wrong.... not vice-versa.

I LOVED this project and it's evident in every single thing that works right with it that you all take for granted.

Forget the years I put into it before coming here, but I would think my work publicly should speak for itself.

Don't be another who shits on my legacy Waal.

Rx, I am probably one of the only ones that have tried to defend you to the others, but you are not making it easy for me.  smile.gif

Once again I will say that what you did with the ressurectionxtras was awesome, but this constant public rant is making all the hard work you put into the ressurectionxtras, be overshadowed by your recent comments.

I sometimes forget also, but lets not forget the efforts that madmab has put into all the madmab editions, for free I might add!

Oh yes, it's Amiga! don't you forget it!  tongue.gif

I must say that people have just become short with you. I have always thought you were a bit narcissistic, but I was more tolerant of you when you were bundling all that media. I do appreciate your efforts, but your rants are just getting on people's nerves.

Calling your bundled collection after yourself said something, then coming back and complaining about how you didn't get enough "glory" or "appreciation" confirms any impression.

I value Likklebaer's opinion. Try looking at things from the eyes of those that "betrayed" you. If you see that it was never about you to them, or to anyone else, maybe we can get back on the same page.

...So how about that PCSXbox?

Exactly.....

Everyone was more tolerant of me when I was serving them......

Screw people's nerves.

Let me give you a rundown about how much work was done here on my watch, by me....

1.  I tested every game included at least to the point that I could make my own Title/Action shots.

2.  Every game included for every system has a synopsis file.  Nearly 2,000 of these were hand typed by me from the back of the boxes of games since nothing existed online.  This is especially true for Atari games.  At one point I was asking other people for help, but truth be told, it was taking more time for me to edit trusted sources than it was for me to do it all myself.  In the end, I'm sure that was at least 8 months of 40 hour weeks on my part to complete and document.

3.  Many of the boxarts were from existing sources, but nearly half of them couldn't be found or at least in good shape.  Thousands of boxarts were shoddy.  Particularly the Japanese and other foreign releases.  Sometimes it took me a day to find a boxart for a game with searches, rather than using a generic boxart. They may have had evidence of abuse or price stickers on them or prices written on them in magic marker.  I single-handedly "fixed" all of these for release.

4. Box/Cart/CD art was not always easy to come by before I was here.  I easily spent 3 months of my life working 40 hours  a week corralling as many official images as I could find.

5.  Generic Boxart..... Something I know for a fact people take for granted.  Gilles stepped up to the plate and made my dreams come true here.  I have a thread on XScene detailing my desires for such images and for all systems I've included, he made some bad ass images to bring boxarts to all hacks, translations, prototypes and other games that wouldn't have one otherwise.

6. Yes, videos were made before I came here, and yes, NES6???? gave me the idea..... but I ran with it...... like nobody else would have.  I had many people making vidoes for the project, but Horscht was the first for SNES and MM? and Stupot were the major contributors for many systems after that.

YOu all don't get it......

Yes.... I don't currently know how to code.

Yes.... I did work that anyone could do.... that nobody would want to do....

But seriously look at the awesome machine you have before you.  Ask yourself how it really got there.

Without trying to take anything away from Madmab or Gilles, who I love to this day, how many ideas would not have been accomplished had I not been suggesting them for the emulators and skins?

Nobody had a bitch or gripe about my OCD while I was contributing.....

And yet today. nobody gives a F about the work I've done and they say that all I've done is steal and call it my own.

The truth is, there was a lot of great stuff out there.

I made it MUCH better.

If you don't recognize that today, you will down the road.

At the very least, I call this my retirement project.    I plan on retiring at 40, so that gives you all 8 years to prove you don't need me to clean house.

Nobody gives a flying "F" about how I feel about all of this.

So Here I Am.....

The reciprocal of the status quo.....

The only person I ever saw say that about you was BP ...

EmuXtras hosts your work, with the name RessurectionXtras, even through all the fighting and disagreements nobody ever suggested taking that away from you.

About you getting locked out of the site. It auto-bans anyone who tries to log into the FTP with the wrong name. And since we changed the site to EmuXtras, I'm guessing you tried to log in with the old ressurectionxtras info and it auto banned you. I talked to Wimpy on your behalf regarding this and he said if you wanted him to unban you that you know how to reach him. Only Perr can unban people, so you have to talk to Wimpy, who talks to Perr.

The reason the site name changed is for several reasons. The name is focused on the site now, not a person. If you have actually gone there recently it is no longer about just "Xtras". We have Xbox homebrew porters asking for their projects to be hosted there, exclusively in some cases [Zelda ROTH, Zelda OLB, Zelda T3, Furby Kill 3D] and we have emulator authors that are all regular active members. Hyper_Eye allows us to host OdameX releases for usually a day or so exclusively before its added to Xbins. Freakdave is releasing the Sega Saturn emulator Yabause on our site exclusively. XtecuterX73 releases his Nestopia updates on our site exclusively for a limited time... To go further than all of that, we have EVERY active Xbox developer active on our site with the exception of +T+ and BP. Despite your being upset about the name changing, you have to understand this site was moving from a "Just Xtras" mentality to a replacement for Xbox-Scene where we can post anything we want, have better PM system, etc. etc. etc.

We could never have accomplished all we have if we stayed as RessurectionXtras, hosting just the RessurectionXtras. When we were an all Xtras site we had topped out at just over 200 users, gaining maybe 5 new users a week. When Hyper_Eye first said we could release OdameX before Xbins we started getting 20 new users A DAY, and that speed has almost remained the same as we strive to give Xbox users the most ALL AROUND experience we can. Thanks to Madmab being so active, and thanks to Hyper_Eye, freakdave, weinerschnitzel, XtecuterX73, Ez0n3, etc. (who have nothing to do with Xtras of any kind) I'm happy to say we have almost 3000 members.

I wish you could bring your passion to our new community and contribute rather than bashing it for betraying you (which it didn't). It was never about you ... never has been. As a matter of fact you remained a VIP member until you repeatedly attacked the site on its moral atrocities. We get enough drama from the BP crowd, the last thing we need if more drama from "friends".

The fact is... you didn't embrace the site at all when it was called RessurectionXtras - only logging in a handful of times and never posting, then when the name changes you say everyone stabbed you in the back.

Interesting thing to note: When we were called RessurectionXtras we hosted the SAME EXACT links to your project that we still host today. The name changed and the site has grown but your project is still there in the same place with the same name. and you still don't have to pay a dime for the site to exist. You should be thankful Wimpy and Perr even care enough about a 10 year old game console to even pay $60 a month to keep it alive. I know I wouldn't be able to afford that.

Why not boycott Xbox-Scene for not adding your banner to the top here in this thread?

We give your project just as much attention as anyone elses project, and that's your problem.

You want to run your own all RessurectionXtras forum, join BP here freeforums.org

Comedy relief

Other than that, stop BPing out everyday over here or we will have to find your facebook page and make funny pictures like we did with BP
