Hello NES,
I know you're not around much anymore, but I figured that I'd take the time to let you know that Horscht and I have finished the videos for your emulator through the letter O now. I know he's working on some videos in S now and as soon as he finishes them, I will put together the P-S set and post it. Thanks for the great update.
I had a few questions for you now, and I thought this is probably the best place to directly address you.
!) Can you make it so people can put subfolders in the "image" folder? I have an extensive collection of SNES manuals That I converted from .PDF to .JPG that work perfect with this ability that I would be happy to share with you if you added this ability. Even better, would be to have an in-game option on the menu to "view game manual" which would display the first page of the game's manual if the containing folder was the same name as the currently played rom. Of course, having the ability to scroll through the images from the first page would be great.
2) Is it possible with the XBox's limitations to display the vids in one box and also the screenshots scrolling in another, smaller box? I have an almost perfect set of SNES Boxart/cart scans/titleshot/action shot and the same for many other emus that I would hate to see go to waste if videos become the norm. I was thinking a way to alternate between the two displays at first, but then I thought if the XBox can handle it wouldn't it be cool to have the videos and the artwork packs display at the same time?
3) Any advice you have for someone like madmab or others who are more emucoding savvy than I am to get these abilities ported to XPORT's emus would be greatly appreciated. I have nearly complete artwork packs, video sets and manual scans for most of the top systems and would be happy to share my work someday if we can get all of the major players working with full functionality.
You've proven it can be done man. I wasn't around when you started, but I hear that there were many people saying that the emu port you created could never be done, yet here it is... thanks for all of your hard work, and consider my work on your emu video collection my show of thanks. I'm sure Horscht and Sotu feel the same way.
Thanks for everything you've given us here, and I sincerley hope you consider my requests because I feel that they can lead to the perfect emu experience on your platform.
Thanks,
~Rx
