Nes6502 would you mind sharing a little more about techniques you use for narrowing down the correct addresses you're looking for.
Fire Pro Wrestling is the first one I'm trying and I've gotten down to 3 addresses but they all do about the same thing. Rumble on swing/kick, Rumble on Contact hit, kick, Rumble on mat when in close proximity to opponent and rumble when you bounce off the ropes. All of these rumbles are coming from one address. I'm going to continue trying to find the individual rumbles for each of those actions if they exist but it's definitely tough finding the isolated rumble for just the Ropes or just the Kick/hit.
I also used the last 10 decreasing rumbles and assigned them to slots to test and they all did about the same thing.
So in cases like these is there simply not any specific rumble or do you think I just need to test more slots?
Any tips/tricks on how to effectively use the searching tools (Exact Value, < or =, > or =, not =, = to before) or a readme with examples of how to use them to find a certain rumble would be great.
So far it's just trial and error, It would be nice to properly understand what each function is doing.
I also noticed that you added the rumble support to command line launching which was a very nice surprise. Thanks again for all your hard work!
in your case , finding the correct adress for a specific actions
bounce off the ropes, etc...it s quite hard, because like you said most of the time there is one adress for the "actions" of the player
so it s hard, but possible,
if you really want ex "only rumble" when "bounce off the ropes";
you must search for a sprite appear/disappear off the screen, in our case the rope sprite
try to search for an "increase value" when the rope sprite change and search for a "decrease value" when the rope sprite become normal
not easy to explain clearly, hope it will explain
