Once my exams are over I plan on seeing if Leo2 (programs library dev) needs any help with the skinning side still. It's the last thing he mentioned on the xbmc.org forums and I figure I can help out.
Maybe I can mention it to him but frankly I don't think its necessary, nor do I think the main devs are going to add anything so xbox specific at this point. (Only one person is actually updating the xbox code)
I'd be interested in hearing your reasoning for it more specifically though.
Yeah man.... it's totally necessary.
I won't be getting around to much XBMC organizing for quite some time, but I want the XBMC to behave as if it were an emu itself when I get there.
XPORT allowed a switch in the emus that allows the emu to go right back to XBMC after exiting the game you loaded from XBMC, Madmab cut down the time to load NES in half (and I'm assuming we'll see similar results with other emulators), BombBloke made the .CUT file creator to make it easy to give every game in the Xtras XBMC representation, Everyone here is working on wide icons for the games and now we have a spreadsheet that Nate's keeping updated so we know what is already made, my Xtras boxart also works very nicely for XBMC representation...
The only thing we don't have is the ability to come right back to the folder we left off at when the game ends, the emu auto closes and XBMC loads back up again. It's kind of bogus to have to navigate all the way back to the folder you want to play another game when it probably wouldn't be too difficult to just have XBMC auto-load right back to the place it left off at. (I don't have to navigate all the way back to my 5th season of Lost folder to watch the next episode when I've finished watching one..... kinda like that)
Hope that clears up the importance of this.
