Gt + Pcsxbox

I'm messing around with PS1 emulation on Xbox for the first time. Really the only game I want to have working is Gran Turismo. And it does work, but whenever there is more than 1 car on the screen, it turns into a near-slideshow. The music changes speed too. It's amazing to me that this emulator seems to be more demanding than Surreal64's PJ64 and 1964.

Am I missing some tweaks in the settings? I'm running mostly defaults right now, but have tried different hardware rendering modes (point sampling vs. anisotropic) and enabled dual shock on the controllers. Software renderer is set to "off".  I did some searching and found that the BIOS option can either use the original BIOS file or an HLE mode, but haven't given that a go yet.

This is the newest release of PCSXBOX off of the auto installer deluxe CD 4.20.

This is what I found for the said games on the compatibility chart.     Gran Turismo II - (Arcade Disk: IMG/CUE/CCD/SUB; Simulation Disk: IMG/CCD/SUB) - Plays way too slow to be enjoyable in BIOS mode. I even tried to turn frameskipping off, frame limit off, old frameskipping on, lazy screen updates on and Reverb: None/Fastest. These definately made the game faster, but it's still way too slow. Game freezes up before race in HLE mode. (v18) ressurectionx
Gran Turismo PAL - its ok, but its strange this one. ingame its slightly slower than in should be, and car is awfully sensative to the dpad! -t!dus_beta

Yeah that compatibility thread is usually a little too light on the details. If it's unplayable, even if everything else is flawless, I wouldn't say the game is particularly "compatible" at all. Ah well....
