Just been reading up on ya posts here, I might be of some help regarding the "idiot proof" aspect to Xports emus but not as a coder more of a end user if that helps ya at all.

I've been dishing out Xport emus on xbox for friend and family for some time now trying to make it idiot proof
as best I can i.e preselecting the graphics filter, auto starting in select game and removing all the unneeded shortcuts on the controllers via the UI mapping menu but there's one option I can't remove via the menu and that's the send item to garbage option.

With that gone I think it would greatly help make Xports emus alot more user friendly for people not quite software savvy. Plus having the Xports mc360 skin with the package might be good as most people seem to be using this for there XBMC dash.

Haven't updated in awhile why does 2 players not work?

has anyone else confirmed this? I'll have to try this out, i just got to work but last time i checked it worked fine. The only code that was changed was the palette code and the typo. I will look into it as soon as i can get off. If anyone else is having problems please let me know.  Hey metalcoat let me know if you are having problems still later on.

O i realize that this is probably not this release, I think i have v7 last? I tried Fce and it worked fine, so it can't be anything else.  When I click the right analog stick it brings me to the in game menu but can't do anything else.

and this is on the second controller?? If anyone else reads this before i can take a look at this, please let me  know, its is 10:24a.m. where i am at and i will not be able to look at anything until after 3:30pm. If there is a problem with the second controller i will get it on it immediately.

Hey metalcoat try deleting everything in your save folder for mednafenx-nes. Also look at your conguration for controller 2.  So you are saying that even in version 7 it was doing this too? In the meantime i hope someone else can try this out.

Don't worry metalcoat we'll get to the bottom of this.  smile.gif

Yeah thanks it was the saves, turns out it was grabbing the same config files from the FCEULTRA saves, so I deleted and recreated that folder everything works fine.  One feature request I may have though is to allow 2nd player to operate the menus once he/she clicks the right analog.  Currently I can only click it on the 2nd controller and then have to operate with the first.  Thanks for all the help, XTecuterX73 and might I add the pallette does make once hell of a difference.  Thanks Again! biggrin.gif

yer welcome metalcoat i thought something didn't sound right, i'm glad i could help, and yes im loving the new colors myself, it had been bugging me for so long.  grr.gif

thanks should also go out to madmab he did alot of work in this too, i am not going to take all the credit, without him this idea would be still be dead in the water. Future releases of mednafenx-nes will also not be made unless he is on it with me, im sorta going to rewrite the code and he has the tools to complile it as well as modify things he likes as well. That's why this is sort of a co-release.

Either way im happy i have contributed something back to the scene, but this is the only the beginning. Im hoping to roll out some updates, some big, some small, throughout the year. I knew this first release was important and wanted it to start off with a bang.  biggrin.gif

If you have any questions feel free to ask and maybe we will answer.  wink.gif

I think one thing I neglected to mention in the readme is if you have a palette file named "default.pal" in the emulator directory the Mednafenx-NES will use that over the new built in default palette.
